Yuu was having the best sleep they've had in ages. They didn't think it could get any better until they were woken up by the smell of sizzling bacon. Opening their eyes, they were met with the sight of their bedroom. All their stuffed animals were still in their place. Pictures in their frames. Knick-Knacks on their shelves. Overall, their room was exactly how they left it except for one thing. In the corner of their room, there was a little picture of themselves in a picture frame surrounded by flowers. Next to the picture frame was a card that read: "We miss you." From the looks of it, this had been here for a long time, save for the flowers, that were most likely replaced once they wilted.
Before they could think of anything else thier stomach grumbled violently at the smell of the bacon. They then followed the smell to it's source. Walking through thier house led them to a laid out table with shiny cutlery and a vase full of marigolds in the middle. Their mother and sibling were already there. They smiled at you and you sat next to them. Waiting for Dad to finish cooking the bacon. "How did you sleep last night Yuu?" Your mom asked.
"Like the dead!" You replied.
"I'm glad to hear it. Last night, you passed right out in my arms, and Dad had to take you to bed. We called the police to inform them that we've found you. They said that they got a report from somebody that they saw you somewhere outside the city after dark, walking the whole way, no wonder you were so exhausted."
That got thier attention. They called the police last night? Was thier dissapearence that big of a deal?
"Also, Yuu, the police want to come over today to ask you a few questions, so just bear that in mind. You're not in any trouble. They just want to know where you've been."
"Speaking of which. Where exactly have you been?"
Thier mind just short-circuited there. Yuu had to come up with something credible on the spot to tell them. After a second they got something.
"I just woke up in the woods. It was like no time passed at all."
That somehow managed to convince them. Vil's acting classes did come in handy after all. They hope they could stay consistent when the cops showed up later for questioning. Dad eventually came through with the bacon, flap-jacks and condiments. The sight of the food made Yuu's mouth water. As soon as everyone was at the table Yuu started digging in with vigor. They hardly noticed how fast they were eating until thier dad told them to slow down. Yuu could not help it. They cannot remember the last time they had a meal like this with no strings attached. Plus, they still held the instinct to eat thier own food as fast as possible before Grim could swipe it off thier plate. They thought it would didsapear. Apparently it didn't.
It only now dawned on them now that they were still wearing the clothes from yesterday. Even the scarf. Which was a good thing. How would they explain the giant scar circling thier entire neck if they saw it. It was best to avoid people seeing thier skin from now on. However that would be difficult. What about when they go swimming? More specifically when they have to wear those tiny bathing suits that are part of the school's uniform. If they don't think of something by then, then all thier overblot scars will be put on display for the world to see. But that's for another time. Right now they need to finish thier meal then get into some other clothes.

"ACE TRAPPOLA!!!! CEACE EATING THOSE TARTS AT ONCE!!!"
The red-haired freshman almost dropped said tart at the sound of his housewarden's voice.
"Hey! Trey said we could have these!
"HOW DO I KNOW YOU ARE NOT LYING?!!! SHOULD I TAKE OFF YOUR HEAD TO FIND OUT?!!!!"
That tempted Ace to ask the very suicidal question of: 'Wow, who pissed in your cornflakes this morning?'.
"Riddle, it's okay, he's telling the truth." Trey intervened.
The housewarden's face went from scarlet back to pale. Trey had managed to calm him down.
"Apologies, Trey. I thought that Ace was stealing again. However it appears I was mistaken." He looks to Ace, "Be warned Trappola, Next time I will not be so merciful."
And with that last remarks he took his leave.
Ace felt annoyed after that. And it was not just him. It seems that something has been bothering Riddle lately that has him extremely unpredictable. He heard rumors that the other dorms were also acting strange, but no one would spill the answer as to why.

After having nice, long finally with hot water shower. Yuu went to thier bedroom to pick out clothes, successfully without anyone seeing them. They opened thier closet to the sight of all the different clothes to choose from. They got to work, grabbing deoderant, a long-sleeve shirt, a pair of trousers, a scarf, a pair of sneakers, and then throwing it all on. They did not look bad. It brought out a certain character to them that made them look almost adventurous. They liked it.
Soon after the police arrived. They were at the door talking to Yuu's parents so Yuu decided to make their entrance. The police looked relieved to see you safe. Some of them looked shocked that Yuu was actually here at all. All of them went to the lounge, where they started asking them the questions. Yuu admitted deep inside that they were very nervous during this interaction. But they kept their cool. And managed to convince all of the police officers of their explanation. According to Yuu: "They were walking through the woods one day when they took a nap under a tree. But when they woke up they were in a different place wearing different clothes and a lot of time had passed.
Their bullshitting somehow worked. Living in Twisted Wonderland taught them how to be an excellent liar. They feel almost a sense of pride that their skills have made it this far. The officers were offered coffee by Yuu's mom, but they politely turned it down. For they had another call-out to attend to, and their job here was done. Yuu was glad they made it out of that one. Things calmed down after the police left. One thing Yuu learned whilst talking to the authorities is that their missing person file was called "The case of the Black Carriage."" When asked about this name the cops replied with an explanation that the only lead to where they went was footage from a trail camera, located near where they were last seen: of a black carriage pulled by horses. It's very blurry but still discernable. Yuu recognized it as the Ebony Carriage. So they denied any knowledge about it and claimed they had never encountered it.
-
"You ready to go Yuu?"
"Yeah! All set!"
This was the day they went back to school. Not NRC, but thier old school. They had thier books, thier lunch, thier bag and thier scarf. They waved thier Mom goodbye as Dad took them to school. As they reached the school, Dad did not pull into the usual parking lot. Instead he went to the back of the school where the restricted parking was. "Dad, why are we going here? We're not supposed to be here."
"Not normally. No. But when we phoned the school to tell that you were back, they requested for you to be dropped off here today. What for? Well, I'm not sure. But good luck, Yuu."
With that, they got out of the car and were met with a faculty member waiting there to escort them. Yuu followed them to the backstage rooms of the hall where the teachers were gathered. They were all super happy to see Yuu after all this time. But the reunion didn't last long as the teachers went to go do something in the hall. Yuu waited there in the meantime. However, they could hear the sounds of students being filed into the hall and growing louder. When all quieted down, the principal announced on the microphone: "Sorry we have all gathered you here on such short notice, but we have exciting news. Someone will be joining us once again today." The principal turned to Yuu, who was standing in the wings and gestured for them to come on stage.
Yuu stepped out to see all the school at assembly. It took a split second for the students to process it, but when they saw Yuu, they all shot up and screamed in unison.
Then it was absolute CHAOS.
-
Everyone was so supporting. Meeting with thier old classmates had been quite the tear-jerker. They thought that they would have moved on by now but no, they still remembered them and were waiting for them to come home. That made a wave of warmth flow through Yuu's heart. It feels nice to be loved.
-
This may be thier first day back, but they still have classes to do. They got to that right away after everyone had caught up.
The first class was Mathematics, not a subject most students are that happy to start the day with. But it couldn't be helped.
Sitting down in thier seats the students payed attention to the teacher. The teacher explained they were going over a new topic today. This topic was not like anything the class had worked on before so they all were in for a challenge. All ecept one. Yuu had learnt this at NRC. It was one of the many things that the students there had learned years before they came.
Yuu proceeded to finish thier paper before anyone else could. This mildly surprised the teacher, but the main importance right now is in if they got it right. The teacher read it over and Yuu had got every question on the paper, front to back, right. The teacher was not having it though.
"M()Yuu, where did you learn math like this?"
"I saw it somewhere on the internet."
"Mmm~hmm, like any student in a school like this would willingly spend thier free time learning stuff like the quadratic formula, for fun. Tell me, M()Yuu, what is the entire method to solving these equations. I want an explanation in detail. Go."
Yuu proceeded to own this teacher. Everyone sat there in shock as the teacher begrudgingly admitted they were correct. The class went back to normal, but the interaction was still the elephant in the room.

I couldn't find a high-quality image of the specific model of Gakushuu's guitar... so I had to go through the pain of painting over a sketch I made of it. 😭
I, for the love of god, couldn't tell what the model of the guitar he used in the anime is. The guitar on the mobile card version though resembles a stratocaster... but I don't really see Gakushuu as a strat kind of guy tbh.
HEADCANON TIME~~
This is sort of like a companion piece to the ask that @dreaming-of-assclass answered about Chiba and Gakushuu friendship headcanons last year, since I did kinda contribute to the post by that screenshot of me writing a ridiculously long essay about their possible friendship 😅
In terms of skill level, they absolutely cannot be compared since they're quite different from each other, despite both guitarists being of high calibre. Chiba is a punk musician who puts more focus onto composing riffs that enhance songs. While Gakushuu is a metalhead who just LOVES shredding his way into stealing the show.
If they would ever collab on stage, Gakushuu would easily take the lead guitar role while Chiba on rhythm guitar. It's not like they even have to fight about who gets what role - they both already know what they can do and that's just how it is.
If anything, Chiba would be thrilled at the idea of composing a song for Gakushuu just to see how the shredding master would enhance it even more with his own twist.
FYI - Chiba and Shuu also owned guitars other than the two shown in the picture. It's just that the aerodyne strat and the majesty are kind of like their signatures when performing.
I don't remember if it's canon that Gakushuu fills in for missing club members whenever there are big events since he is that multi-talented and has unreal time management skills... but I'm just gonna assume it is and that he once filled in for Chiba when his band performed at a live house while he's out of commission.
The entire performance was recorded and Chiba was beyond impressed at Gakushuu's take on the songs that he wrote. It was one of the first things he brought up the first time Shuu had invited him to a morning coffee since post-finals season.
Nobody else among the virtuosos are brave... nor sturdy enough to attend and last a metal concert with him. So learning that Chiba also has his own favourite metal bands (whose shows he had at least once attended to) might bring Gakushuu to want to invite him to the concerts he'll be attending next. This would be a recurring activity between them.
In high school, Gakushuu would invite Chiba's band to perform at Kunugigaoka's school festival as guests - likely even pay them a sum of money no matter how many times Chiba tells him he didn't need to.
You know those type of friends you'd only meet for certain occasions since you only share similar interests for a thing or two, so you both find it unnecessary to be involved in each other's lives? That's the kind of friendship I imagined Chiba and Gakushuu would have.
They seldomly contact each other and occasionally meet up, usually when Shuu wants to attend another concert with him... or when they just wanted a necessary break from those stress-inducing abominations who like to call themselves their friends.
I feel like if they would ever talk about personal matters, it'd be just them ranting about certain people who lack common sense and how annoying they are. Other case would be Gakushuu giving Chiba full permission to diss his father 😭
Gakushuu uses every opportunity he could find to convince Chiba to get a majesty guitar, knowing that he'll definitely geek over its sound quality. Chiba says no everytime since they cost THRICE the price of his black strat.
(Gakushuu: Well perhaps if you would just simply allow me to buy one for you-)
(Chiba: I've told you many times before that you spending money on me is strictly limited to concert tickets ONLY!")
I'll edit and reblog this post if I got more to add in the future. But for now, this is what I have~

The start of a new series. Where Yuu has finally come home after a year in Twisted Wonderland and reunites with thier family. But things don't go back to normal though, people become suspicious about where they've been because they won't tell.
Warnings: None.
A/N: I'm still new to writing stories, this Yuu is intended to be GN but I apologize if I make any mistakes. This Yuu has an older brother, a mom and a dad. I don't know how to write younger siblings so I didn't include one.

Yuu had made many friends in Twisted Wonderland. Thier fighting spirit never ceasing in thier quest to get home. They had earned the respect of others and discovered amazing things on the way. Thier fighting finally paid off when one day the mirror anounced that it had found a way home for them. At long last they would see thier family again.
"We'll find a way to keep in touch right?"
"I'm sure we'll figure something out. You go back to your world Yuu. Take care of yourself."
"Thanks Ace."
"You know you mean a lot to us Prefect. We respect your decision to leave and we'll never forget you. I wish you the best."
"Thank you too Jack."
"Bye minion. The Great Grim gives his praises to his most useful henchman."
"Goodbye Grim. Remember to study well."
With thier last words to them said and done, they stepped through the portal.
-
Stepping through the portal thier senses were lit up with a myriad of different colors before they felt themselves moving at breakneck speed. They were going so fast yet they couldn't will themselves to scream. But then just as fast as it started it stopped. Yuu opened thier eyes to find themselves in front of a large mirror in an old, abandoned house. They got up and looked around. The house looked as decrepit as Ramshackle when they first arrived in Twisted Wonderland. Albeit much smaller, more like a log cabin.
Going outside they were met with the sight of a forest all around them. There was a path leading from the porch to somewhere covered in foliage. After clearing the thick brush with thier bare hands they uncovered another path. This one leading much farther than before. Following the path down the hill eventually led them to a road. Not wanting to go back to the cabin they made the decision to follow the road, and hope it would lead them somewhere where they could get help. The thought had crossed thier mind earlier that maybe it wasn't the right place. In that case they made a mental note to remember thier way back to the cabin if things got hairy.
Yuu walked for many hours. Thier feet began to hurt. The mirror had replaced thier NRC uniform with some other plain pair of clothes and a scarf. They were given some type of gum boots as shoes. Wich were convienient for when they were trekking through the brush, but now they were getting hot and uncomfortable the more they walked. They were grateful for the scarf though, as well as the long sleeved outfit. There was quite a strong breeze blowing that made them shiver. The scarf also doubled as a way to keep prying eyes off of the scar on thier neck left behind after Riddle's overblot.
It was after this thought that they came across a river near the road. With big rocks surrounding each side that made quite the photogenic spot. Yuu was utterly exhausted at this piont so they saw no harm in taking a small rest. They lurched thier way to the river's edge with renewed motivation. Remembering a wilderness survival technique from thier brother they made sure to stay away from the still water that might be stagnant. Yuu made sure they didn't drink too much water because they did not look forward to having to pee in the bush if they don't find a town soon. They even took off thier boots and socks to dip thier feet in the water.
Sometime later they dried off, put thier shoes back on and continued on thier way. It was all going fine until later they noticed something. It was starting to get dark, witch made Yuu fidget nervously. It spelled bad news to be caught in the dark at a time like this, thinking this they quickened thier pace. All the walking eventually led them to a street sign. The sign had many names on it but there was one that stood out to them. The name of thier town. There was a fork in the road with three ways to choose from. So they set off in that direction.
After about 5 minutes of walking they were met with the sight of thier town. They felt a huge wave of relief knowing that this was the place. Remembering the way to thier house they continued thier journey. It was now dark at this point. Down the hill and through the familiar roads they went. Some cars drove by but they didn't need to flag them down at this point, for they knew where to go. There were no people out during this time of night. They were all in thier homes. Making the atmosphere even more tense when they got to thier street. They could see thier house from here. They were almost there. Yuu crossed the road and walked up to their home.
The lights were still on and they could hear people talking. The weight of the fact that they were finally here after an entire year was now settling in. And they began to silently panic. What do they say? What will they say? After some breathing techniques learned from Vil, they stepped up to the door. They couldn't find thier voice to speak yet so they knocked three times. No answer. So they knocked again. A bit louder this time. This time they heard something: footsteps coming up to the door. Yuu held thier breath when the door began to open.
"Hello. Can I help yo-
CRASH
The glass thier mother had been holding was now shattered and forgotten on the ground as she stared at them. Yuu couldn't make eye contact but they knew she was shocked speechless. The commotion caused two more sets of footsteps to approach.
"Honey, what is i-
Thier father and thier brother appeared behind thier mom and stopped dead in thier tracks. They had the same looks on thier faces as thier mom. They kept staring at them as though they were an impossible thing. There was a moment of complete silence as they stared at them.
"...um...hi, I-
All of them ran towards Yuu at once. They hugged them like they would disapear if they didn't hold tight enough. They were all crying. Yuu stood there frozen. They themselves began tearing up. Then for the first time since Twisted Wonderland. They let the tears roll down. They cried in thier family's embrace and let the stress out. They could hear thier parents mumbling words to them however they didn't have the energy to decipher it. They kept crying into thier mother's shoulder, tears soiling her blouse. They eventually cried themselves to sleep and thier dad took them to their bedroom, the bedroom they had not slept in for months, and lay them on thier bed. They stayed with them for a while until they too had to go to bed.
Yuu was finally home.
-
Meanwhile in Twisted Wonderland, the boys were already beginning to feel Yuu's absence. Even those who claimed they didn't care had a small pain in thier chest when they were not there. It was during these moments when they wondered if they would ever see Yuu again...
And if there was a way for Yuu to come back.

PART 1
-
Everything was flying by so fast. The second they stepped through the portal, it felt like all their insides were being rearranged. Yuu flew past universe by universe. Saw shapes beyond human comprehension, colors that don't exist, and sounds that could never be fathomed. Closing their eyes helped a little, but they were still being thrown around like a rag doll through the space-time continuum. After about 15 minutes of absolute hell, they blacked out. When they regain consciousness, they are lying in the dirt of some unknown place. They picked themselves up. Their body felt like lead. They were sure they were going to have a migraine after this. Looking around, they realized this was a plot of unused land that was located near their hometown. Then it clicked.
They made it
Yuu knew the way to their house from here, so they wasted no time in running home. Heavy pants exhaled from their chest as they sprinted home. Nothing could hold them back anymore. They were finally home. They were giggling like a madman between breaths, and before they knew it, they were already talking out loud to the family members they were yet to meet again.
"MOM!! DAD!! I'M HOME!! I MADE IT!! I KNOW YOU ARE PROBABLY WORRIED, I CAN EXPLAIN!! SOMETHING TOOK ME AWAY BUT I'M SAFE NOW! I HAD SO MUCH FUN THERE WAS MAGIC I SAVED PEOPLE I LEARNED SO MUCH I MADE NEW FRIENDS YOUR GOING TO LOVE THEM SO MUCH I-"
Yuu stopped dead in their tracks. Their town was there. But it was reduced to rubble, ash, and crumbling ruins. There was still smoke coming from the leftover embers.
"..."
They didn't know what to say. The world tilted on its axis. Before they could pass out, however. Yuu found themselves running to their already intended destination. Charred corpses littered the streets of what was once their home. There was complete silence save for their swift, heavy footfalls against the broken tar of the roads, and the increased pounding in their chest. Rounding the block, they could see the sign for their street. It was bent and burnt bit still recognizable. With the last of their stamina, Yuu made the final push to their house. Seeing their home as nothing but a pile of rubble and ash is a sight they never wanted to see. But this is really happening right now. This realization hits even harder when they see their parents charred corpses next to the rubble.
"No," they whispered. Utterly shattered. They were shaking at this point . Both from physical exhaustion and the emotional trauma being inflicted on them. With a shaky hand, Yuu slowly reaches down and holds the skeletal hand of one of their parents. Nothing could stop Yuu from breaking down. Yuu's screams of pure agony filled the sky as tears and snot cascaded down their face. They barely registered themselves falling to the ground and weeping on all fours. It didn't matter. For there was only one thing that existed right now: PAIN.
Yuu whole body hurt like it never did before. There was something coursing through their veins that felt like lava. It was another factor in their screaming. Yuu's throat got tired after the outburst and just gave up after a while. They could only wheeze now as they fell into misery. Not like they even had the energy to make any sound anymore.
Yuu did not wish to look at the ruins of their home anymore. So they lurched their way into the street. Looking down the road, they saw a pile of bodies heaped high. What caught their eye about this, however, is the flag pole that was stuck in the middle on top. The flag had an insignia of some kind. It was threatening. The triangular red flag flowed in the wind like a trail of blood in water. The insignia mocked them of being unable to save their family.
Yuu trudged their way to a lake. Their skin paling and sweat cascaded down thier face with every step they took. Setting eyes on the water, they went to the edge and stuck their whole head in. They felt so thirsty. Yet no matter how much they drank, it still was not enough. Their entire stomach was now filled with water, yet they still needed more. What was happening to them? Their breaths had been labored for some time now, but now they were becoming even more intense. Yuu began to feel nauseous. Something weird was happening inside them. That weirdness turned into pain as they suddenly vomited a whole ton of blood. There was just a thick stream of blood coming from Yuu's mouth, straight into the lake. It was a horrifying sight. Yuu is just emptying out an entire bodies worth of blood. The blood coming out changed from red to black as now they had no blood left in them. Yuu identified the substance even in this state:
Blot
Then it started happening. Yuu was overblotting.
They were so tired they could only slouch there as thier body morphed and changed. Fingers growing sharp claws. Hair turning pitch black. They could feel their clothes changing and materializing more features. Their right eyeball burned like it was on fire. The ink seeping into shapes down their face. The process was surprisingly calm. As if this whole thing would bring them peace. At last.
The ink around them started to morph into a shape. The shape grew features as more ink accumulated around it. The shape began to form into a creature. This creature looked like a biblically accurate angel. Because it was constantly changing between different forms of different creatures. It finally settled on one form, however. It was the form of a three-headed dragon with two tails and a pair of giant wings. Each of the three heads had a crown atop their cracked glass skulls. This thing beared uncanny resemblance to an antagonist Yuu saw in a monster movie once. But judging how it looked like an eldritch creature beforehand, this thing probably has multiple forms like this. That and they remembered seeing somewhere that a multi-headed dragon is one of the forms of the devil.
Yuu's transformation reached its end as they opened their eyes. The fatigue they were feeling earlier was now completely gone as they felt like they could take on the world. They felt so good. They felt powerful, too. They wanted to see for themselves if that was true. They attempted to fire a spell they saw the boys use towards some rubble. To their surprise, a burst of magic sprung forth from their hand and completely demolished it in the blink of an eye. This was amazing. They could do magic now. It made them feel a little bit better. But they were still alone in this world now. Alone, except for their monster. The three-headed dragon peered down at them with its soulless eyes. There was electricity crackling where its mouth should be. It didn't have that many features on its face. But if it did, it would have the face of: "What are you? You are the only living thing here. Do not cross us."
Yuu looked at the creature. The creature looked at them. This was their phantom. This thing would eventually kill them. They knew this, yet they couldn't bring themselves to turn it away. This was the only company they had left. Their family was gone. Their home was gone. And their friends in Twisted Wonderland would never think to look for them. They would die completely alone. Without anyone here to save them. Or even know what happened to them. This was it. The end.
No
They could still do something. The blot was meddling with their mind. But a part of Yuu's morals were still trying to function in a way. But it came out twisted. Their goal now was to destroy whatever killed their people. To stop this from happening to any other world out there. They will end this madness even at the cost of their own life if they must.
Floating their way to the pole of dead bodies they passed earlier, Yuu pulled the flag pole out the heap, snapped it in half over their knee, and threw it away.
