This fic caught my eye because Saginuma and Genda are the combination I hadn't thought before, so I'm glad I read it because it gives me new perspective about their characters!! I love it, I rewatched Neo Japan mini arc last night before I continued reading

“Why do you hide them?”

Genda just sighed - deep and tired and pained - and Saginuma remembered the segment on the news. Beast Fang. He shivered at the thought.

“It’s… a painful reminder.” Genda held a tight grip on his comforter, still it did nothing to stop the shaking of his hands. “Just something I’d rather forget about. …It’s shameful.”

Saginuma blinked at that. He couldn’t think of a world where the proud “king of keepers” and “shameful” could exist in any proximity to each other.

Although, he remembered catching glimpses of Genda looking down at his hands with disdain in the short moments he had to himself during training. Saginuma had always chalked it up to frustration at his injuries, but hearing that word come out of Genda’s mouth recontextualized it.

His heart felt heavy at the realization, imagining their otherwise proud keeper carrying that feeling of shame. Something about it felt absurdist, like Saginuma was starring in a comedy skit written by someone who expected him to believe that Genda Koujirou had ever felt flustered or humiliated in his time on Earth.

Or, Saginuma sees Genda’s scar, and shows him his own.

Real G-Pen (CSP Default)
This is my favorite way of rendering.

I turn off the anti alias for the texture from the pixelated corner of the brush.

I create transitions of color by making lines from the brush in different colors. It’s hard to explain but I hope this is understandable

Real G-Pen (CSP Default)
Bigger brush size to create contrast (pointing to hair highlights)
Smaller size for more subtle effect (pointing to clothes rendering)
How the brush is used for cell shading (pointing to cell shaded art)

Kisaku christmas art (texture is hidden)

Same method as my G-Pen brush, but because this is a soft brush the colors blend together

Lineart

Texture and highlight. I get my acrylic-like brushes from the same creator (Xenomorphius)

I FORGOR WHICH BRUSHES I USED FOR THIS!!!! so I watched my own timelapse, then guessed what brushes I used

The brush used to render hair is now deleted (sad emoji)
but any watercolor or marker brush with no texture that has blending capabilities can be used

the thought of kidou being an adoptive father makes me laugh a lil because huh.... so just like his father 😭

this is unless the partner is a uterus haver and they're willing to bear child but kidou just doesn't strike me that he would do that. he will adopt regardless to give an already existing child a family

My Ina11 powerscaling opinion is that I actually prefer if Genda was in Ares timeline's Inazuma Japan instead of Saginuma.

Like I admit Genda is my goat; but also narratively Neo Japan in original timeline happened because Saginuma was very very frustrated he wasn't even chosen as tentative rep, after Epsilon matches motivated him to get stronger; which didn't happen in Ares so I think Genda being chosen instead of him makes better sense plot-wise... though I'd feel a wee bad on Sakuma if it were the case
