@experimentx628 – cont.
Lilo watches the experiment cackle with wide eyes, not having expected such a reaction from her warning. The girl's approach to Stitch's cousins had always been concern, kindness and welcoming arms - no matter their initial actions nor the consequences of them.
So far, it had worked. They had relocated plenty of other experiments – given them purpose, a home, beyond what they'd initially been created for. None of them had seemed this... scary. Lilo had thought 628 would be willing to listen, to accept the girl's help.
But this wasn't a promising sight. Lilo nervously smoothed her palms over the red material of her dress, gaze glancing around them. No sign of any law enforcement yet, but the wake of destruction 628 had left behind her meant it was only a matter of time.
" No! You can't hurt people, " Lilo is quick to insist, holding her hands out protestingly. " That won't be good for anybody. But I can help you! We can work together, find a place here where you belong. "
like for some memes bc i need a distraction
Malia Baker as Chloe Charming in Descendants: The Rise of Red
❛ i made you your favorite food. ❜
(it's burned somehow)
for Spencer
The plate of food before him was... questionable, to say the least. Mostly charred, unidentifiable pieces with, somehow, a cold center. It defied all logic of cooking - yet, so did everything about his new companion. Most 'dogs' didn't have the physical ability to even open an oven, let alone attempt to prepare and cook a whole meal. Of course, a lot of things about his 'emotional support animal' lacked sense ; the green mouth, the surprising dexterity, her speech... still, Spencer couldn't bring himself to dwell on the science of it.
The notion was sweet, a distinguished contrast to the usual chaos that she brought into his life. Even if it was a futile gesture ( he couldn't exactly consume the contents of the plate before him ) the meaning behind it wasn't lost to the profiler.
" Oh, thank you... " Spencer finally breaks his silence, using a fork to hesitantly push the contents of the plate around a bit, if only to keep appearances. " I'm actually not that hungry right now, but we can uh.. save this for later ? " He suggests gently, placing the fork aside and moving to place the plate elsewhere – at least until he could sneakily throw it away.
When Hannah takes her hand, Ellie squeezes. Offers a reassuring smile. At this point, Ellie refused to let anyone else stop her from getting the experiences she'd been deprived off growing up in this world, and she was extending that to Hannah. If people were going to stare, Ellie wanted it to be from jealousy because they were having fun.
" Eh, most people would say that it's unnecessary anger or something instead of being cool – but I like that you think so, " Ellie shrugs, huffing out a laugh. She'd never considered herself cool - Ellie had always been the awkward kid, the weird kid, different from everyone else – literally, it was in her blood. Hannah thinking she was cool? That was fucking awesome.
" Come on, Han. Let's get our groove on, " Ellie wiggles her eyebrows at the other teen as she starts to pull her towards the dance floor. Could Ellie dance? Absolutely not. But she wanted to make Hannah feel better, and she'd read about dances before. Proms and parties and weddings - things she'd never get to do. It sucked.. but maybe this would make life suck a little less.
Ellie sounds so genuine - she'd say her friends had sounded genuine when accepting to spend the weekend with her, but had they? Maybe Sam, and just how much she had been involved in that prank was unknown.
The fact that she doesn't give a damn about what anybody thinks is obvious, so that's a point in her favor, but Hannah still hesitates, squeezing her eyes close for a moment to erase the flash of a camera recording her at her most humiliating moment, forget that day that led to the worst night of her life. "Okay," she murmurs, opening her eyes again. They come and go, these flashes, and all she can do is push them away. At least when she's awake.
"Okay," she repeats. She knows how to dance, she and Beth danced and sang together a lot, sometimes Josh would join in for laughs - oh, bad train of thoughts - and people aren't even looking, it seems, so she decides to take Ellie's hand. It feels so nice to touch another person, one she trusts, and her expression softens, even if she can't find in herself to smile. Not ever, if she's honest, but even less so after such a scare. Still, being able to soften up and not panic is a win that she owes to Ellie. "You'd really punch people for making fun of you, wouldn't you?" she asks with a hint of regret, or maybe jealously, because that certainly was not her reaction.
"You are always so cool, Ellie."
@decreedfate ; "You would feel better if you actually slept." (Sam for Dean!)
The unimpressed stare sent Sam's way was more than telling of Dean's thoughts on that suggestion. It wasn't like they'd ever had a regular sleep schedule – even as kids, they'd be awake all hours of the night, watching out motel windows for signs of their dad coming home. Some things stuck with you, and as much as Dean enjoyed getting a good night's rest, the actual getting there wasn't so easy.
Especially not on complicated cases like these. Where every lead came up short and the bodies were beginning to pile up. Whilst there wasn't much more they could do right now, Dean couldn't stand the waiting around.
Hell, he couldn't even settle. Kept pacing around like an animal in a cage. The shitty motel TV had no appeal, but neither did trying to sleep. The older Winchester just felt restless, agitated.
" I don't see you sleeping Sammy, " Dean counters, turning away from his brother to peer through the thin curtains for the hundredth time. As if the answer to their case would just fall outside their room window if Dean checked enough. The man scoffed and let the curtain fall back into place with more force than necessary. " I'm fine. I can sleep later, or tomorrow – whenever we've caught this damn thing. "
