i know ive talked about this before but i really just do not understand where people get the idea that griffith never cared about the hawks or sacrificed them for personal power. like. its pretty clearly spelled out that he feels extreme guilt over every hawk that dies under his command and that guilt is what the godhand play on to convince him to sacrifice. they show him the bodies of the people who have died following him and his dream and tell him that the only way to not have their sacrifices be in vain is to sacrifice the remaining hawks and achieve his dream. he doesnt sacrifice the remaining hawks because he doesnt care about them or because he wants the power that comes with being a member of the godhand. he does it because if he doesnt, every other death meant nothing. and thats not even getting into guts specifically and how griffith's emotions towards him play into his decision because thats a different can of worms and i already wrote enough here lmao

(this isnt to shit on Miura. his work has endlessly inspired and meant a lot to me, but that doesn't mean that it is exempt from constructive criticism)

i love Casca but damn it if she isn't the most misused character ever. I can understand what happened to her in the Eclipse from a narrative standpoint (Miura really didn't need to draw that scene in titillating angles though. It was fucking disgusting already). I can understand Casca loosing her memories. And as much as I despise it I can even understand her going into a zombie child-like state.

But what I can't understand is her being in this state…for what is essentially almost the entirety of the main story (20+ real life years) and GET 0 CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT IN BETWEEN.

Don't get me wrong, arguably the best scene in the story is when she finally "wakes up" in Elfhelm. But they couldn't even give her a single thought, a short internal dialogue of the conscious part of her brain in between all this time? Nothing for who is essentially the tritagonist and supposedly the main heroine of this story, to who is at her core a really interesting and beautiful character with tons of wasted potential?

Hot take but can we stop calling the new Chainsaw Man chapter an “Asaden moment”?

That was Yoru and second, that was not an “Asaden moment”, Denji and Asa got violated. Denji was raped by Yoru and Asa had her body used against her own will. And you’re all fucking joking about it?? Yes it was unnecessary, I believe that. It was gross to witness.

Also what if we brought up how now their relationship is permanently scarred now that Denji feels betrayed by someone who he thought was different? He wanted someone different from the likes of Himeno and Makima, and now Asa is added to his trauma thanks to Yoru.

There is no salvaging their relationship after this.

I love dark CSM art with religious symbolism. Especially Makima art, it’s so good. There needs to be more art that depicts her accurately, I hate how over-sexualized she is. Why are ppl so afraid to draw her as the demonic, oversized coat wearing gremlin that she is? She’s a devil.

Fujimoto gives so many parallels between her and the Virgin Mary, come on. I want to see art of her next to those creepy angel statues that are in cemeteries. Need inspiration? Just listen to Machine Girl. I DEMAND she be acknowledged for the eerie, unsettling, sleep paralysis demon that she is‼️

CSM rant. The tragedy of the Hayakawa family

The tragedy of Aki Hayakawa was not only his own, but also Denji's own suffering. What Makima did was to raise a dog. What She did was to build a foundation in which Denji could grow, flourish as a human being, using both Aki and Power as the core of this little dysfunctional rag tag trio, only to rip that away in the cruellest way possible. Destroy his home in front of his eyes, by his own hand.

Home is a person. Aki Hayakawa was already a gaping hole of loss and grief. And Power had no sense of what human connection feels like. They Worked as a perfect beat for Denji to bite into. For Makima, Denji was a dog and Power and Aki were the meat of an animal you fattened up to kill and feed the dog.

What was more disturbing is that, not only did she used Denji's own vulnerability against him, but also Aki and Power’s. She meticulously played her cards and chose those two as they work the best. When you are lonely for such a long time you simply try to grapple with whatever you can get your hands on. For Aki however, it was rather peculiar. He never really managed to cope with his loss. Which led it to fester and rot silently. He chose to keep the wound tender and burning as it would simply fuel his single minded death parade to kill the gun devil. But what he didn't expect was for him to feel so profoundly for each and everyone around him, he was still just a guy. He chose to build walls around himself, wear his cold anger on his face, to put on that unapproachable facade that led people to view him as a stoic jerk. But what he also wore was his heart on his sleeves. And somehow, some people choose to stick with him. Himeno being a prime example. The thing is, he lets people in without realising it. Because somewhere in him, he carves the connection.

And Denji, despite not looking like it, is highly sensible and empathetic when it comes to forming bonds and connection with people. It goes beyond his horniness but rather something that his teenage self also carves, the need for nurture and for a shoulder to lean on. Which is exactly what Aki is. He is stoic, he is a perfectionist and he knows how to take care of and nurture someone and to simply put, he is everything Denji needs in a guardian.

I guess I really want to talk about his sublit but prominent suicidal tendencies too. But let's save that for later.

With Power, it's something else but also not so different. The thing is, fiends also have empathy and feelings, they aren't exactly the heartless nightmare fuel that are often their devil counterpart. Power is kind of a different case then Denji and Aki. In where Denji chooses to shut his brain in order to make himself feel at home, and Aki simply ( trying ) to give his middle finger to establishing connection ( and failing to do so miserably ) Power is surprisingly open about it. She lets her emotions control the best of her. She is willing to bash Denji’s head open and probably get herself killed just to save her cat. And that openness is something that both Aki and Denji get more and more comfortable in. Power is selfish, she's a brat, but she cares. With her you don't have to pretend as she also has nothing to hide.

But Makima actually failed to fathom exactly how DEEP this connection between those three ran. And definitely not the outcome it will lead to.

And Denji himself as a person. Makima underestimated him a big time.

It's lowkey a fucking rant. I needed to proceed with the absolute psychological fuckary Makima dumped on those three unfortunate individuals. So yeah. It's kinda 'yap without any closure on sight ' kinda rant.

i feel like some ppl aren’t gonna like when we get more of asa’s savior complex moments, i see ppl now say ‘i want her to have a goal that doesn’t involve denji’. don’t twist my words, i want that too but as of rn her behavior makes sense and tbh, this whole savior complex is self fulfillment in a way. asa had no one from the beginning and gets thrust into this world of devils bc of yoru, we see their dynamic is rocky but at times she does confide in yoru. she does not have yuko anymore, and when asa was at her lowest, she lost her will to live until denji showed up in the falling arc. we literally see her basically say ‘if a piece of crap like him gets to live so should i’.

anyways, she's not even attracted to denji because of this savior complex neither. she liked chainsawman and denji before fami planted the idea that he needed to be saved by her. so i don’t like ppl saying ‘oh she has this idealized version of denji in her head’ bc of this panel. when really this panel doesn’t support that opinion. if anything this panel show how she sees herself, and lets be fr as of rn she has seen denji’s worst moments.

I don’t like hearing some of Toji’s fans out because some of them just talk about his fanon version. but i love seeing people like this it’s so cute to see someone love their fav like this especially since its Toji i get it i get it

Yall dont understand i am a Toji defender for LIFE. I could go on for hours about his character, hes SO misunderstood, i love him so much. Literally my comfort character, my favorite character ever, i completely respect anyone who dislikes him for the things hes done but i will not back down from talking about his character and him as a whole every chance i get. My tiktok is Toji centered. My insta is too. I am building a merch collection of him that will undoubtedly take years because of how shitty my job pays. 99% of the edits i make are of Toji and/or Mamaguro, it physically makes my heart hurt when people mischaracterize him so hard or just dont know anything about him (even the obvious things). I keep seeing these weird posts on X about Sukuna and Uraume being parent and child. Why do people tend to sexualise everything? If it wasn’t at risk of becoming sexualised, it wouldn’t have become “father and child”, imho. It’s just bizarre.

People can be so obsessed with sex, gender, age... when these characters cross over from being human to whatever Tengen was (more like a curse) - they don’t necessarily have any of those features any more. Age becomes a concept.

What really matters is what they were to each other and what they ended up realising they wanted.

Sukuna recognised his emotions and turned away from Mahito. He rejected the hate and fear that Mahito represented. He turned towards hope. With Uraume. Uraume was a symbol of, “I’m ready to open up to being attached to something/someone other than just a pure hedonistic sense of existence”.

I sometimes sense that so much relates to unresolved daddy / inadequate parental figure / attachment issues.

Do we as a fandom need some psychoanalysis?

For the JJK fandom though, I don’t care about fanfics that much. But the fandom truly doesn’t even try to see Gojo from another perspective rather than the popular fanon one, and it’s not a problem in fanfics only but art, music wtv they try to assign to Satoru is the same thing. 80% of the Gojo fics are so boring because they’re all the same.

Gojo may be the same in most fics, but YN will always be the worst because at this point i can no longer insert myself because i won’t do the stupid stuff she does. Last time i read something that made me feel good to insert myself was back in 2017 and that’s it. It’s so sad though and i agree with you on the point that the guy doesn’t always have to try for the girl but the opposite THANK YOU I’m honestly tired of this trope its so overused and when you ask why readers don’t write the reverse they always say sexist shit like “because a real man would do yada yada”, “it’s the man’s role to do blah blah” like ??? Things that annoys me in the Jujutsu Kaisen Fandom

Sorry but this is going to be all over the place.

Am I the only one tired of the same trope being used when it comes to Gojo from JJK? In other words the enemies to lovers trope where the oc or reader is basically Utahime with out the name.

Like we all remember the episode where he gave out what type of person he was into which was a nice girl or something along those lines. I that as writers you have to take creative liberties but why are all the readers in these stories are exactly the same.

They either hate Gojo or is super easily annoyed at him. Jerks but its okay cause for some reason he loves them unconditionally. This is so annoying cause there is no push back from Gojo in these stories. Just him taking back the reader or waiting for them to return his feelings when in actuality he shouldn't.

Another thing that annoys me is why is it always the guy that's simping why can't it ever be the woman being madly in love and trying to win him over?

This enemies to lover trope has completely taken over the Reader x Gojo fandom and its so overused. Now I will admit there are some gems out there, but I just don't even bother reading anything that is enemies to lovers anymore. I'm just tired of reading the same thing over and over again with the same copy and paste formula/reader.

Also why is smut so strong on here. Like don't get me wrong those writers are killing it with the plot aspect but man does all the smut kill me. Like I want more plot these are really good and creative ideas but man the smut kills me lol. Still reading the plot but stop at the smut parts which is usually the end so we gucci.

Hmm, another trope I refuse to read in these are arranged marriage were we are supposed to be upset with the guy who is forced to marry someone they don't want too. Why? Well for starters it always start with the reader being mistreated by the guy for some reason and the reader putting up with it until something happens and the guy falls in love with them and has to gain both their trust and love again.

I can get behind this but they always make the guy so unredeemable in these that it would be crazy if she takes him back. [She always does] Another thing is we are supposed to hate the guy because he wants to remain faithful to the person he was with before the arrange marriage. Like why are we bashing a faithful man?

Another trope I hate is when the guy is always in the wrong. A while ago I read a Gojo x reader fic were reader was mad that Gojo couldn't spend a lot of time with her so she broke up. Okay valid even though I am sure this would have been addressed before or earlier in the relationship but okay. What annoyed me with this story is that she then goes on to get in a relationship with Nanami who then calls Gojo an idiot for losing a woman like her.

I could not believe what I read. Like what the hell did Gojo do? At this point Gege posted about Gojo's life and how the man is booked to the max and I couldn't help but think how distasteful it was to first make it appear as if Nanami would do something like that to Gojo and secondly pretend that they don't have more free time compared to him. Like Nanami even understood why Geto did what he did.

Anyway that's all I got for now. I am not here to argue but I would love to hear about what you think on this. A second opinion is always welcomed and if you have a trope you don't like then I would love to hear it.

Sadly Megumi and Maki fell victims to this the most and barely anyone talks about it. And dont get me started on the “it’s a drawing”, “aged up”, or the “the age of consent in japan in different” like SHUT UP. It’s so disgusting.

One thing I will never understand about the Jujutsu Kaisen (and others) community is how many people have 18+ on their profiles, then proceed to make nsfw content about the minor characters who are under 18 specifically on their accounts.

And the “they arent real” excuse don’t work w me, cause at the end of the day, they are fantasizing about a child being in those type of situations.

Like - Yuuji, Nobara, Megumi, etc etc they act like children and they clearly emphasizes that in JJK w Nanami’s first appearance in the anime, where he told Yuuji it’s okay to be a child. And they all have the same mentally of a child of their age.

Literally people who sexualizes them makes it so difficult and normalized for people of the same age to talk about themselves in that light. And I will admit, I’ve been one of them after seeing adults talk about child characters as such like that in such a light for so many years.

Also the sexualization of Maki is WAY too normalized.

Why the fuck are you sexualizing the minors too, when Gege gave us fine ass adult men and women??? Shiu, Takuma, Shoko, Yuki, Utahime, Mei Mei (ew.), Nanami, Toji, Satoru, Suguru, Choso, Sukuna, Uraume, etc etc. GO FOR THEM. I honestly want them all on me.
