The “Necromancy is evil“ we see in most fantasy worlds stems from a christian view of having to honor the body after death in a certain way to ensure the soul’s safety in the afterlife. And while I encourage you to explore societies that don’t see necromancy as evil, I also encourage you to explore societies that see necromancy as evil for different reasons.
Drow might believe that after death, your body belongs to Lolth and must be fed to spiders. Reanimating a body means stealing from Lolth and must therefore be punished.
A Zoroastrian inspired society might believe that with death, evil starts infesting the body, so dead bodies must be kept away from the community, and reanimating them keeps them in the community and is therefore bad.
this lovely character is hooks the clown!
she’s bright and excitable and unhinged, made entirely because i wanted to check out Clown Names (Evil) when generating names.
i don’t have much on her yet but i am plotting a campaign for after my greek myth one (which is starting this sunday and i’m hyped) where the only rule is everyone is clowns. problem is, i want to play this little devil and i wouldn’t be able to if i run the campaign.

so i have this group, right, we play dnd every sunday and take turns dming. so our current campaign is going great, i have two characters on deck to choose from for our next one and then someone pipes up saying they have an idea for the next campaign. this campaign sounds bangin, no issue there.
however
this campaign involves a character they have sent me art of, a character they had said would get along great with my pc from their last campaign. so, here i am, looking at my elf warlock and my daemonfae warlock/bard, and coming to the realization they might just have to wait. oliver beckons me back.
for context, oliver is a skeleton bard with the noble background, he’s a cocky bastard with no regard for anyone but himself, he thinks he’s better than everyone and flirts with anyone, he’s super rich and thinks he’s more important than he really is, also he seduced the leader of the gang we were supposed to face off against at the end of the campaign and gave him his number. so yeah. guess my sexy skeleton is back.
hiya, folks! for anyone that’s interested, i’ve started a blog for my writing over at @one-good-fellow. it’s mostly going to be fragments of stories and some poetry. if that sounds cool, go take a look!
my party found medusa, helped out perseus without killing her, and bought her an absolutely massive puppy.
perseus is happy because he found a work-around and is not dead. (when polydectes asked for the head of the gorgon he didn’t say it had to be detached.)
medusa is happy to have a companion and some cool new friends.
my players of course instantly asked for the dog’s name and i panicked and so now medusa has a very large and fluffy bear-like dog named chobani.
i love monster prom so much. i haven’t played in a while, but i remember going for liam and damien a lot. once i got the dlc tho, i was all for zoe because she’s purple and yellow which are my favorite colors and also she’s very cute.
hey @marigoldmagpies and @tilthedayidice I’m gonna need more content in this stream-every-day thing I’m doing this month so do y’all wanna show me the ropes of DBD some day? I’ve only played it maybe once before
