(Updated from this old list here.)
Shielding is a practice entirely built on your intention–if you want an eternal shield, you can have it. If you believe in your shield, it will be there. There are many ways that are incredibly powerful with just the slightest trust and a little bit of practice. As soon as possible, start to practice shielding and methods of spiritual protection, since practice, along with your intention, will create the most powerful shields.
Also, you can never shield to much. It’s amazing and very empowering to have layer upon layer of shielding, and the energy and time you put into shielding will really save you a lot of energy and time in the future. Even just walking around, through crowds, cities, etc, drains your energy–negative energy is everywhere, and consciously seeking only the energy for your best and highest good will really, truly, and completely empower you.
You can shield from anything and everything, just make sure to allow in things for your “best and highest interest/good.” ShCast every shield with this affirmation. This allows what people would consider “negative” emotions to still come through, so you can live a balanced life, since not all emotions that are considered negative actually are. This affirmation effectively only allows things that raise or balance your vibration, and help you to spiritually evolve. It won’t cut you off from anything necessary. Shields themselves will never overwhelm or smother you, since they are meant solely for your needs and will always let in positive energy. Here are some simple methods to begin shielding, but you can always adopt them with your own needs and intentions! Do what works for you, just make sure to shield when practicing spirit or energy work of any sort.
Robe of White Light:
Focus for a moment on calming yourself, and once you have a clear mind, imagine a nice fluffy robe around you (I always imagine one like in the game Journey) made of white and protective light. This is the universe’s energy, and nothing ill can penetrate it once it is surrounding you.
It is recommended to repeat once or twice a day to maintain the shielding.
You can also use the affirmation of “I call upon a robe of loving and protective white light, knowing that it will protect me from all energy not in my highest interest. This robe protects me with the power of the Universe/Source/God.”
Guardian Protection:
Ask your guardian spirits (either aloud or through your mind) to protect you.
Always command that the guardians who help that they “come in light.” And if not, say they must leave. You don’t even have to know their name, but if they aren’t here to help, then they shouldn’t be around you. So just command this and all with ill intentions will be forced to leave.
Call on them for a need by need basis.
Auric Hardening:
Imagine your aura (trust whatever color you see in your mind’s eye), and then imagine it hardening, like it’s calcifying around you. It can get as hard as a rock, or like armor.
This can sometimes push away any energy exchanges, so you could feel more distant from positive interactions too. So, it’s best used when a threat is around
Usually lasts between 4 hours-2 days, depending on the strength of your intention.
Sigil warding:
Draw with a pen, marker, or with the tip of your finger (if you don’t need visible lines) a sigil with the intention of protecting yourself. A sigil is most basically an energetic line (or series of them) with an intention. The lines hold the energy and magnify the intention.
Here are examples
A post on sigil crafting
Shielding with Intention and the Universe:
Calm yourself with a short breathing meditation, then focus on what you intend to shield-yourself, another, or a place.
Imagine casting a ball of light towards the designated target, with the intention of allowing the Universe/Source to channel through you and shield whatever you intend to.
Just watch and observe as the shield is built, knowing that it is fully fueled by the energy of the Universe and will stay there, and stay strong, until the shield is released consciously by you.
You can specify this shield for certain purposes, like to only keep a spirit out, or to keep all negative spirits out.
Reiki Shielding and Protection:
In Usui Reiki, there is a technique your Reiki Masters should have taught you about warding and cleansing the room in white light. Channel Reiki energy to do this.
If you are attuned to Reiki II, you should know the 1st symbol and that it can be used to stop all energy that is not in your highest good from coming towards you, working as an effective shield when the symbol is called on.
You need to be properly attuned to Reiki for this.
Bubble shielding:
Similar to the white light or shielding with intention, but focusing on making and empowering a bubble around you.
Replenish this as often as possible, since this is dependent on your own care.
Can be in an oval or a sphere shape. If this is hard to get a hang of, then try just fitting it a couple inches away from your body, similar to auric hardening.
Waterfall shielding:
A bubble shield with the intention of existing on top of an underneath bubble shield.
Focus on this shield and set the intention of having it move around like a waterfall. This way, someone sending negative energy has a very small chance of hitting the same place twice.
Elemental shielding:
All of these are built with a specific intention and visualization of the shield. Time around such element used will strengthen the shield, or a conscious meditation to draw the energy towards you and the shield.
Fire shield: Envision burning fire, that will destroy all negative energy/energy not for your highest good, when it tries to enter your energetic space.
Water shield: Similar to the waterfall shield, but with the visual of actual water flowing that can wash away all negative debris or toxicity clinging to any form of bubble shield underneath it.
Earth shielding: This one can block off positive energy too, since it works more like a layer of earth around the person. Though, it can also be envisioned to only grow/manifest around you in times of need or when you’re being attacked or faced with negative energy. It can also block your third eye from seeing outside. Earth shielding can also work as a means of grounding you, which doesn’t have negative effects (as long as you don’t neglect your upper chakras). If you ground yourself to the earth, and your are harmed or shaken by negative energy, you can replenish your energy from the earth.
Air shielding: Envision a fast current of air around you that sweeps away all negative energy or malevolent beings.
Light shielding: A bright white light that totally purifies all energy that contacts it, similar to the robe of white light. Different colored lights can work too, but they all have specific purposes that you should research first.
Ether shielding: Sometimes this works like a portal, transporting all malevolent energy to another place in the universe. Just make sure to set the intention that things in your best and highest interest aren’t affected, and that the travel won’t severely harm anyone who is transported by the portal (since sometimes negative energy can come from just someone in a bad mood).
Chaos shielding: Not always considered an element, but with the idea of scattering any negative energy–the sudden increase in entropy raises the vibration to something more positive.
Shadow and smoke shielding: Imagining either element around you, mostly for cloaking and making your energy less obvious. This is great for astral projection and spiritual travel when you don’t want to be noticed. You can infuse the energy with an intention of how you want to be perceived, like if a threat comes, then you can suddenly raise this shield and make the smoke cause you to seem dangerous, scaring off the opponent.
Halo shielding:
Imagine a series of halos that spin quickly around you, moving to knock away negative energy if it approaches your space. This can be inside or outside of a bubble or light based shield.
Protection charms and enchanted objects:
Work made by you, when you have a lot of experience, in creating a sigil charm or enchanted object meant for protection. This can also be from someone who has passed down a family protection amulet (just research it and bathe it in light to clear any possible negative energy on it), or from an experienced energy worker making protection amulets, charms, or objects.
Some are religiously charged, like crosses, pentagrams, etc. If this matches your belief, your belief will empower it.
Shadow Work journal prompts
Shadow work works best if you are completely honest with yourself, this is a time for growth and evaluating your behaviors and what you need to change in order to be closer to a more authentic you.
In the beginning, I didn’t notice how much these questions made me really take a step back and think. I’ve spent so much time not thinking about the reactions I’ve had or what perceptions I have about situations, that I spent a lot of time writing and putting a lot of effort into each and every question.
Every time I started to journal— I have noticed a pattern, I have noticed where some of my anger and insecurities are stemming from, and why.
One of the prompts asked me to describe how I was as a child, this took me into a long loop of all the things I enjoyed doing as a child. This helped me connect with her. As I was describing how I was as a child I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the (good) memories that followed. There were some (bad) memories that showed up as well, and I journaled about them too and how it made me feel then— and now. This helped me feel connected to who I am today. It also made me realize how much I have been working for a very long time achieving who I am today. I hope these prompts helps whoever in need to start their journey into healing.

If you say your prayer out loud, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer silently, in your head, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer standing or kneeling or lying motionless at your altar, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer while you wash the dishes or fold the laundry, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer slowly and mindfully, each word hanging in your mind like a leaf on a tree, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer quickly, with the words racing through your head so fast you are barely aware of them, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer calmly, with precision and measured meaning, it will be heard.
If you say your prayer desperately or in a panic, with no sense or coherence, it will be heard.
The gods will hear you when you call, they will listen when you pray.

When planets are in retrograde in a natal chart, the traits associated with that planet are internalized and kept hidden instead of being openly and readily expressed. However, you can learn to express these parts of you, and you can learn to grow from the typical qualities of a planet in retrograde.
Thank you @aurora701-blog for giving me the idea for this post!!
The mind and the expression of your thoughts is internalized, everything that circulates around your mind is often kept private and rarely ever leaves your mouth. You may prefer to keep your deep, innermost thoughts as private as possible, and may have difficulty when it comes to expressing yourself through words and communicating comfortably with others.
The expression of love and your appreciation of beauty and aesthetics may be something that you don’t express to others often. Love and truly showing that love may be something that is difficult for you, being comfortable in relationships may be something that you have to work towards, and you’re possibly more likely to be fearful when it comes to telling your crush that you like them.
When you are angered, others may not even notice. Anger and passion may be something that you are unable to express comfortably and easily. You most likely hold in your anger in an unhealthy way, and may even be prone to realeasing it in random fits of rage or total breakdowns when you are no longer able to hold your anger within. Others may see you as a “chill” person, but that does not mean that your anger doesn’t exist beneath the surface.
Your philosophies, view on religion, and view on life in general may be something that is very personal and private to you. You may not be one that often expresses their thoughts on society and the world as a whole, these thoughts may be kept in your head as your most private and innermost thoughts. The expansion of Jupiter will also be internalized, there is a great opportunity for internal growth and expansion during the course of your life.
Who you are and who you will become has been barricaded from you, you put limitations on everything that you are capable of accomplishing in life, and those restrictions start from the inside. You may feel as if you are never enough or that you’ll never live up to other’s expectations, that you’re in a constant loop of failure or of dissappointing others. No matter what you accomplish, there may be a tiny part of yourself that will still nag you about what you haven’t done.
You may not readily partake in protests and revolutions in public, and may prefer to let your thoughts about how the world should change inside. Due to this, you may not see yourself as a very revolutionary or unique person, as you also may keep your quirks and individual interests/ideas to yourself. Inside, you may want to protest, to rise up against whoever or whatever you don’t agree with, to be a strong source of movement and forward thinking for others, but you may be scared to do so.
Instead of Neptune clouding or mystifying your view on the world, Neptune has clouded and mystified your view on yourself. Recognizing who you really are and not the mirage that you have put up for yourself may be a difficult tasks, and questioning your identity may be a relevant theme throughout the course of your life. You’re going to have to discover which parts of you are genuine and which parts of you are not actually there.
Internally, there is a war. Constant internal transformations, internal death upon internal death, internal rebirth upon internal rebirth, they may dramatically alter who you were at birth and who you are now. Be ready for great changes in terms of who you believe you are on the inside and who you will become. There is a tremendous power and presence that is beneath the surface of who you are, whether you realize it or not.
I will be sharing one of the reasons why I started my journey in Witchcraft.
1. Action
I grew up in a Religion full of dogma and rules. I was religious since I was a kid. My grandmother taught me everything spiritual that she knew. As years passed by, I watched how people began to use religion for their personal and political gains, fame, manipulation and how people use bible to invalidate other people's opinion.
Growing up, I also observed people in the game of Facts Vs Opinions. Until now, people feel entitled of their ideas because, they can just google and read everything and feel like they know-it-all. And because of that people are scared to admit things that "they don't know".
As I age, I started to question everything. I ponder about all the things I want to know. Endlessly searching for my truth. Then I found Witchcraft. As I delved into this "craft", I found my pieces. I found my components.
On the first 3 years of my craft, all I did was research and Divination. I was certain that this is what I want. I was doing the craft to help people around me and to get to know my self.
5 years in the craft and I already started to look at the bigger picture.
One of my sure and certain reason of why I kept doing and practicing this Spiritual belief. It is because, I am not a type of person who will just sit and wish to have the things that I want in my life. I am not just in to "manifesting and law of attraction". I am more than that. I am capable of directing where I want to go. It's pretty much, I am the director of my own story type of thing.
Witchcraft made me work on my soul. It showed me that lighting a candle, praying and doing spells is not enough. It showed me that I need to do something, I need to move, to create, to pursue, to achieve. I am made that way.
Witchcraft showed me guidance, taught me that when I need help or a boost, it's just me who can do it. It's just me who can channel that energy and put it out on the mundane. (That time I knew why witches live alone in the forests 😂)
It taught me. I can't rely on everyone. People are just there to listen.
That's how it got into me, all this years of study taught me how Witchcraft is a helping hand. A way of life. A mindset and lifestyle. It was not just about "I want to have that, I want to have this." It is more like, "How can I have this? Alas! I know what to do."
Disclaimer: This is my experience. If you're don't agree on my views and opinions. Fckoff. Sorry I'm not that all love and light witch. 🤭
Card 1 - Past: What aspect in your life you’re currently clinging to; what you may need to let go of; what may need healing still.
Card 2 - Present: What you should focus on; what your Ego needs to know NOW.
Card 3 - Future: What you should be on the look out for; What your Higher Self is trying to tell you.
Not going to lie these past few months have been hard for me to get through, staying in touch with my spiritual side and witchcraft journey has been a struggle, but recently I found my inspiration to continue on with it, I also get asked this questions a lot so here’s some ways I found useful to reconnect with my magickal abilities
The tips:
• Look at some other witches blogs/instagrams/YouTube channels: this really helped me realise how much I loved it and wanted to really devote my time back into it
• look back on your old book of shadows: see how far you’ve come
• Go back to basics: work on meditation, grounding yourself and simple spells, work back up your spiritual journey there is nothing wrong with revisiting the stuff you already have learnt
• ask questions, read books, talk to someone: if you have been feeling lost about your craft research a bit, it might help clear your head and clear things up
• Use tarot cards, oracle cards, pendulums and more: ask your guides for their guidance and for them to help re-inspire you
• sit out in nature: You night just need to have some well overdue time with Mother Earth. Just you and her sitting outside meditating and clearing your head
• decorate your house: re furnishing your house to fit you better with newer things to help inspire your witchcraft will get you excited to start working on it, like furniture and new witchcraft supplies
• look at some witch memes: hey it might not be the most productive thing but taking time to laugh at witchy things you can relate to you will boost your happiness and inspiration
I hope some of these helped, any further questions? Message me or send in a question! 🖤🌙
Ok, kiddies. Several of you have seen my post about the various resources and books I have in my Pagan/Witchcraft/Magick library and have asked “Where can I download the PDFs from?”
Well, now that things have calmed down a bit…Here it is! This post will always be growing as I find more PDF books. I did my best to organize them according to category.
Happy reading, loves :)

The "true" things you need to read about if you want to start practicing witchcraft
● Read about it's History - also depends on where you live. Start on your roots. Search and study about your country's tradition, culture and ancient practices before going to other non-close beliefs, that interests you.
● Types of practices - Be careful on diving to some closed practices. I do not encourage this but since it can't be helped, just be mindful of what you're doing. Research! Every practice has do's and don'ts. Learn to respect the "authenticity" of these practices.
● Study a bit of science - science and magick co-exist. Dont just mix anything with everything. Study what herbs and plants are safe to use for kitchen witchery or making oils and other stuffs. Study what crystals can be poisonous when mixed with water etc. Also study a little bit about the science of energies and frequency as this will be fundamental with meditation. Lastly, study the possible reactions of raw materials to be used in doing witchy stuffs before doing anything else. Remember, better safe than sorry.
This 3 topics are what I recommend based on my experience in the practice for 6 years (still counting)...
I suggested this, because this topics will help you to cover the basics of the practice. I consider this as base study before actually studying the fundamentals. Now, if you don't agree, i respect that, just don't impose your bullshit on meh. 🥴
