i love when i discover things about the characters i like
someone on twitter is trying to claim that use of an em-dash is an indication of AI-generated writing because itās ārelatively rareā for actual humans to use it. skill issue
AKA all Danganronpa murders are the same <3.
Parallels among the murders of the same chapter are listed below:
Chapter 1, AKA: "In a murder committed out of fear and panic, after dusk, in a location where the protagonist appeared shortly before, a strongly motivated individual, after taking initiative on their own, is murdered as a result of a betrayal by the protagonist's best ally, after which the corpse of the victim is found slumped on the floor and during the trial for which the blame is for a prolonged time placed on the protagonist or their ally (who was indeed involved, but ultimately is not the blackened)."
Chapter 2, AKA: "In an attempt to maintain allegiance to an important individual and to uphold a sense of honor for their Ultimate title, a capable classmate bludgeons to death the mentally strong yet physically weak (or mentally weak and physically strong) fan favorite (who therefore ends up dying too early) in a hands-on-hands physical confrontation, after which the placement of the corpse as well as the "perceived" crime scene is messed with to pin the blame on another person."
Chapter 3, AKA: "A-not-mentally-well-adjusted individual commits an immaculate and complicated double murder for a unthinkably irrational or amoral cause, which includes a body appearing at the crime scene out of nowhere in a seemingly impossible fashion, and in which one of the victims is the one who was lured out by the killer and willfully takes part in the action (but unknowing that it will result in their own murder) and in which the other victim ends up being the socially ostracized individual, simply because they happen to be at a wrong place at the wrong time."
Chapter 4, AKA: "Within a set-up for a locked room murder mystery, the good-hearted fan favorite becomes a part of a two-person life-and-death allegiance to perform a heroic act of self-sacrificial killing using an unknown murder method with the intention of getting themself killed so that everyone else may live, while one person is revealed to have had a deeper insight into the killing game for some time."
Chapter 5, AKA: "In an unsuccessful attempt to bring the killing game to its conclusion, the most malicious student of the class orchestrates an almost perfect, convoluted and seemingly unnecessarily but indeed intentionally violent murder (which serves as a way of mangling the corpse to a point where the murder method is concealed), whose solving hinges on the protagonist's new but trusted ally's confession about their not-really-consenting involvement."
Chapter 6, AKA: "After a retrospective investigation that brings to light new circumstances about the game's setting as well as its previous events, an existential crisis consumes the remaining survivors as the identity of the class and the killing game itself is revealed, during which Junko Enoshima appears (of course), and which ends with the true protagonist killing the mastermind in order to seek redemption, freedom and hope for their classmates.
P.S. This whole thing was primarily inspired to by my desire to prove Nagito's assumptions from chapter 4 wrong:
Most of these are fortunatelly not true when we also take V3 into account: while Rantaro was important, he wasn't stabbed; a serial killer was revealed in the third chapter, not the in the second; and I wouldn't exactly classify chapter 4 murder as a suicide in either sdr2 or v3 (though we DID have two people playing Russian roulette in the Funhouse, yikes). All in all, the murders wouldn't have been nearly as shocking if they correlated with what had been already pointed out in the second game before, so I'm not really surprised that there ended up being other similarities among the murders.
That's all, thank you for reading <3
Iām a fierce believer and defender of Smooth Brain Astarion (affectionate).
I love that, if left to his own devices, he ends up dead in a ditch. I love that this pasty menace of an elf is a walking disaster. I love that his brain produces one coherent thought per day, only to have it backfire on him later on. I love that his first choice in freedom is to unapologetically be the worst version of himself.Ā Because it makes sense.Ā
Thatās what abuse and trauma do to your braināthey fuck with it.Ā
And in Astarionās defence, the man didnātĀ haveĀ to use his brain for nearly 200 yearsāitās probably the very thing that kept him as alive as he can be; to survive 200 years ofĀ pure shit.Ā
And what use is his brain when his days and nights are dictated by someone else for as long as he can remember? When he has no say in what clothes he wears. When he doesnāt get to choose what orĀ whenĀ to eat. When his body and mind arenāt his own, distorted by torture and hunger and self-loathing, forced to obey his vampiric master.Ā Why use his brain when his survival depends exclusively on his abuserās whims?Ā
Astarion couldāve come up with the most brilliant plan possible to escape Cazador or save a mark from their doom, but he never stood a chance of succeedingāwhich doesnāt mean that he didnāt get punished for trying (or even thinking about it) anyway.
Existing under Cazador was a game he couldnāt win, so why bother playing?Ā
And itās only by chance that Astarionās autonomy is returned to him literally overnight. Itās only natural that heās overwhelmed by his newfound freedom. How is he expected to make sound decisions when he canāt even recall a time when he could do and say as he pleased?Ā
Of courseĀ Astarion is a walking disaster when he finds himself on that beach after the Nautiloid crashāand heās fully aware of that! Thatās why itās so crucial for him to get on the playerās/other companionās good side.
Heās self-aware enough to be so insecure about himself that he would rather trust a strangerās capabilities than his own.Ā
Being a catastrophe of a person is part of Astarionās character journey. Not only does he have to reclaim his personhood, he has to learn how to depend on his own brain again and I think that's such a painfully beautiful, important message Baldurās Gate 3 sends.Ā
Because healing isnāt pretty. Nor is it easy.
Youāre not alright the moment youāre free of whatever horrors you had to live throughāand thatās ok! Thereās time and room for you to adjust.Ā
And the moment Astarion feels more or less safe within his new environment,Ā when heās fed and treated like a person worthy of respect and consideration, his insights, skills and perception are crucial assets to the group.
Astarion knows his art and literature, and although his little remarks are unhinged at times, he's genuinely witty. Even his objections are, considering the circumstances, absolutely legitimate.
Personally, I love seeingĀ Smooth Brain AstarionĀ become more and more secure in his judgement the more Tav/other companions trust and support him.
AstarionĀ isĀ smart, his brainās just been stewed for nearlyĀ 200 years.
happy birthday queen sorry for the killing game you went through
i will never not be mad that x6-88 consistently gets so blatantly mischaracterized. if youāve ever fallen from high up inside the institute on accident, you know heās one sarcastic bitch when it suits him, and i love him for that. heās genuinely so funny at times, he just has such a flat tone and expression that it goes right over peopleās heads. but he delivers such scathing roasts in such a calm manner that i end up wheezing laughing any time i have him as a companion. but thereās a lot more to him than just being another āpatrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winterā-NCR-trooper-level-repetitive no-name courser.
heās afraid of heights, and certainly doesnāt like flying, which given how extremely he exercises caution, is perfectly in character. he gets jumpy and worries almost constantly, even if heās outwardly very calm and collected. heās ignorant with regards to the old world, but he does express his imagination at times, even if itās 99.9% practically-focused and only really extends to his own experience and the knowledge of the institute. but he has so many traits that arenāt in line with the stiff representation the fandom gives him. he actually has a lot of traits that would get most synths wiped if they were caught displaying them in the institute. i do still think they did him extremely, viciously, disrespectfully dirty in his writing (which is a whole rant of its own), but he still has more characterization than a lot of the fandom gives him credit for.
heās smooth-talking, calm, and collected upon initial impression, but heās also awkward and sheepish and embarrassed to admit anything personal to you (even just that he admires you) most of the time once you start getting close to him. heās also a worry wart, anxious about your approval, ashamed and almost mortified if you choose to scold him for doubting you, and itās clear that heās seeking validation specifically from you even if he seems so self assured all the rest of the time, to the point of claiming boredom during combat. heās this blade-lookalike, terminator type who kicks ass and takes names, but whoās afraid of heights and is prissy about the surface world. he seems to enjoy when youāre a mean vindictive bastard, but not within the institute even when scientists have literally just undermined father and threatened the proper functioning of the institute. heās so reserved in his praise in front of you during/after libertalia, but as you walk around the institute on your own, you find out from other coursers that heās been talking about you to them, telling them about you and praising your fighting abilities. and given how many of these coursers say it, it almost seems like heās been gushing about working with you (at least, in his own way) while youāve been apart. heās talked about as the best of the best basically, and since heās bragging about you, the other coursers think youāre cool. which, obviously you can infer a few things about him from this whole thing: heās a little bit of a gossip (just a little, plus itās positive); heās not only respected, but provides his own opinions to the others and that matters to them, his opinion of you matters to the other resident badasses; once you impress him, he likes you, enough to tell the others about you and your performance in the field.
the bigger shock is that he openly praised you when reporting to justin ayo of all people, which ayo will tell you while also claiming that x6-88 ādoes not give praise lightly. well done.ā
all of these things build a character. he deserved better characterization, better development, better treatment of his character, all of that and more, but the bare bones are there if youāre willing to look.
it just makes me irritable when he gets so poorly characterized by people who claim to like him. i donāt even know x6-88 that well compared to some other characters but i know that much.
[Juust a silly AU where NDRV3 is a stage play and uhh.. Tsumugi? divides the class into groups that need to come up with their own plot for their chapter. Yeahhh- Does it count?]
A clean version hehe
aizawa thee pussy eater.. he folds your body like a pretzel with so much ease that it's impossible to not feel lightheaded. he holds your lower body up against his chest while you try to bury your head into the pillows in order to hide the wanton moans that keep ripping out of you.
he's so serious though, determined ā his eyes are glued to your face, observing every sharp breath you take and every quiver of your lip because he needs to know that you're feeling good. you're the only thing on his mind at this very moment, you and your pleasure. the way his cock throbs is irrelevant, the way it leaks pre-cum all over his happy trail a mere secondary thought in the back of his head as he eyes the sheen of sweat covering your body and the way your chest keeps rising and falling. he knows you're close, he can feel it.
he won't stop when you cum, though. he'll push you through that, no matter how much you paw at his hands and no matter how much you try to push his head away. this is his stress relief.
i will write everything. original work, fan fictions, fan art, advice, whatever. | 22 | Sky/Oak/Echo | he/they | 18+ Only author of And It Starts Again
