First paint through of this piece. It's another Wilson station painting and it's only a coincidence that two pieces are the same station lol. (Subway station in Toronto Canada) This first stage is generally to get base colours down and get a general light direction. Drawing errors get fixed in this stage.

Hey everyone! If you're wondering who that is well that's me, the quiet guy behind the art work on this account. Thought I would take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself, I'm sure everyone is very excited 😏. Born in Portugal Lisbon and immigrated to Canada back in the 90s . . . Actually on second thought instead of reading 30+ years Bio it might just be easier to check out the interview by @thedrake that I did after my artist in residence with them😉.

This is last piece piece I did for my Artist in Residence at @thedrakehotel . This piece is of Rosedale station, a subway station in Toronto Canada. 5 feet x 3.5ish feet chalk on chalkboard. The two pieces will be put up in the hotel.☺️🎉 Special thanks to Ashley Mulvihill the curator and @thedrakehotel for providing me this wonderful experience and hope to work together again.☺️🙏

Second chalkboard illustration study and line work. This work is a set of chalkboards that are being done at my artist residency at the drake hotel in toronto canada while living in their Artist Loft which is quite nice, in the second photo I am taking advantage of the second floor to get an arial photo of the piece.

The board is about 5 feet x 3.5ish....cant remember the exact size :P

Progress pics of some of my work at the artist in residence at the drake hotel Artist Loft in Toronto Canada. 😁🎉

The study sketches and preliminary line work down on the chalkboard. Having fun with chalk as a medium, a little messy and hard to control but it should have interesting results.

Haven't worked with chalk before so when I was presented with the opportunity I thought it would be a fun challenge and a way to go outside of the medium that I'm comfortable with.

Mount Pleasant #2 2017 Oil on wood. 16" x 20" An early piece of Mount Pleasant station in Ontario Canada. The painting shows the early morning during winter. The station stop is heated during the winter which turns the interior of the stop red.

The set of photos taken of Mount pleasant were taken during the same time period either early morning or late night while I was working overnights and painting during the day (I don't recommend it).

Union Station #8 2018. Oil on Wood 10" x 8" an earlier piece from 2018, generally I use the smaller pieces to test things out and with this one I wanted to see how texture changed the overall painting. I like the texture in the cool sky but I think it was a little too strong in comparison to the rest of the painting.

I think overall I think the painting was succesful and a great learning experience.

Brampton Go Station #2 2018 The main station in Brampton, a city in Ontario Canada that's slowly growing.One of the things that caught my eye was the original building of the station is still up after 100+ years with the new additions on the right side.

I remember that one of the reason the collector bought this piece was because it felt dream like, especially without the fence on the right side. The station is on a slight hill which almost looks like its floating when you remove the city buildings on the right.

Union Station#9 ,11" x 14" oil on wood. A 2019 oil painting of Union Station, one of the main stations in Ontario Canada during its never ending construction cyles lol. Interestingly since painting this piece they've added a new skyscraper in the background and a part of the station in the painting has been demolished and reconstructed.

I can probably repaint this exact composition and have it look like different painting which is one of the things I like about the subject I work with, it changes quite a bit over time.

“Rosedale Station #2” it’s based on a subway station in Toronto Canada. Had a lot of fun painting this especially when I finish the left wall with the hard shadow/light contrast.

Postcard print of this painting is available in my shop. highly recommend ordering things early because I predict shipping times will be wild this holiday period. :)

One of the painting studies that I showed at TOAF earlier this month. Wilson Station Study # 1, oil on paper. Paper 8" x 10" , Painting 5" x 6" The Toronto Outdoor Art Fair finished now a week ago and honestly couldnt have been happier with the outcome. After almost 1.5 years without an in person show TOAF give me the hit that I needed :D. I have quite a few commissions that I'll be working on for the next few weeks, so i'll be posting some of the oil painting studies that will eventually be used as references for final paintings. Next week I'll be putting some of these studies in my Etsy shop so if you're interested then check back on Monday. (July 26th)

“Union Station # 14” 6" x 8", Oil on Wood. For those outside of Canada this painting is based on Union Station in Toronto Ontario which is I think Canada’s largest station. . This piece gave me quite a bit of trouble I ended up leaving it alone for about a week because something felt off at the beginning but I couldn’t figure out what. I did small value sketches and I think I finally fixed it. As always let me know what you think of this piece.😊
