While I don’t often get the phantom sensation that you describe, I do sometimes feel this little twinge of energy inside me around large hawks or mustelids. It’s a bit of instinctual panic. I too have a worry that predators will see through my disguise.
For the most part I don’t feel like a prey animal, but there are times (especially around certain predators) where I am acutely aware of my place as a small part of the ecosystem.
Fellow small herbivores/prey, when passing past a large dog or whatever seems like a predator to you, do you sometimes get a phantom sensation of said predator biting into you and carrying you in their mouths? Makes me wary to walk too close to large dogs at times, and zoos not to mention.
I can almost feel the teeth in my abdomen and gravity working against me, takes me by surprise most of the time.
I'm lucky i'm a lot larger than most members of my species but instinct doesn't know that; what if the dog sees through the disguise and rushes at me? (takes a step back)
i hate when i see other alterhumans call physical nonhumans/holotheres delusional. As someone who struggles with delusions and identifies as a holothere partially cuz of that it makes me annoyed. We don't owe you an explanation for our physical nonhumanity. don't assume we all are delusional thats harmful and just wrong. also don't ask us if we are physically non human cuz of delusions! thats not ok and we don't owe you an answer.
isn't it insane though how schizophrenic people are viewed as violent and dangerous by the majority of society when in reality schizophrenic people are nearly 14 times more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than to be the perpetrators...
HEY THERIANS!!!
Reblog if you wouldn’t mind compliments based around your theriotype(s)! :D
also this point is a bit unrelated, but I find it funny that I keep rats when I’m a snake. whenever I play with them all I can of think is the phrase “playing with your food”. despite the fact that they are technically my prey, I have no urges towards them. again, I see them more as children than anything else.
I don’t know if it has to do with the neurodivergence or the nonhumanity but my relationship with pets is a bit odd. they are more siblings or children than anything else. we are both creatures which is something humans often fail to recognize/respect.
the rats I take care of are my friends. not mine through ownership, but mine through relationship.
I doubt this view is really all that uncommon in the nonhuman community, but I have yet to see much talk about it.
people don’t talk about vocal stimming enough, in my opinion. haha like vocal stimming is the best. i always have to do it alone cause it usually annoys my family, but still i just love to just go and “aaaaaaaaAAAAaaAaAaaAaa” it’s somehow so refreshing
Δ⚓︎ Anchor Delta ⚓︎Δ
( combined image version; soft and sharp edges)
The delta symbolises difference, and to quote; the anchor symbolises and is: ""an anchor"(a nonhuman/supernatural) "is a heavy object attached to a vessel"(who is attached to physical inhumanity) "by a cable, rope, or chain" (by endelity, holothery, pshifting, or more)."
The idea for the symbol itself was created by @/einaobject and @/harloqui, with me just combining the character versions into one.
being physically nonhuman explains why I don’t really experience mental shifts. I am always mentally me. My brain is not human, and so I never shift from a more human brain to a more nonhuman brain. I just am.
