Hello đ dear Friends
I am Amal from Gaza. A mother of 4 girls ( Judy 8y in 2nd grade at school, Mariam 7y grade 1 in school, Rasha 5y in KG1 And Misk 3y).
I have been displaced from our home with my daughters without my husband. It's now more than 11 months since my daughters and I didn't see him. Every day my daughters ask me about their father with tears, they miss him so much.
We are now live in a tent. We lost our home which we had recently rebuilt before the war, it cost us more than 20k$ to rebuild. It has been completely destroyed. We are now homeless and my husband also lost his job due to the war. With this bad situation, not enough food, and no clean water my daughters got sick every single week. Also, my eldest daughter suffers from permanent amoebiasis in the intestines, there is no treatment available.
I am asking you , my friends , to keep supporting my family who is full of hope and wishes that things could be better with you.
Your donation eases the painful moments of the war đ¤ and relieves the tragic đĽ sufferings of the people of Gaza who have been going through the saddest and most painfulđđ experiences they have ever had. Life in here is incredibly getting harder and harder either on the level of safety and peace or on the level of livelihood sources. Every single thing has become a burden and a load over our shoulders. You may wonder how possible a person in Gaza can't afford their needs and necessities. The answer is " the vast majority of the people in Gaza lost every single possession and đľđ¸ belonging on the first days of the war and became displaced and homeless in the streets of the alleged safe neighborhoods in the Middle or the south of Gaza, adding the fact that all breadwinners have become jobless and with no source of living income amidst the rising prices of any item necessary for staying safe and alive. It is unbelievablyđ harsh and tough.

There are girls calling me ragebaiters already for just asking for proof that they're qualified to hate with as much vitriol as they do. XOXO.
lady no offense but you've been nothing but combatant ever since you've been here. Also- we all saw your first post. Why the fuck did you delete that one?

I don't understand the obsession with sex and all things physical in terms of showing attraction.
It's one of those mentalities that let porn take such presidence in our society- that sex is fundamentally, something everyone shows to prove they're "attracted" to something. And that later leads to the degradation we see later on in r*pe fantasies and exploitation that have been, in fact, popularised by pornography.
Sex in modern society is just a way to present control; over women, over other people, and as we saw earlier, over minority groups people see as "needing to be fixed". Sex has fundamentally become the ultimate show of power, and a lot of things aren't helping it.
Sex as empowerment needs to be followed up with the reminder that it's just *sex*. Love and appreciation don't have to be physical to be truly meaningful. And it gets lost in so many of the muddled discussions between the hard-core "Abstinence"-ers, the perversion, and the objectification that often ensues in a discussion regarding sex and how we perceive it.
Ultimately, stigmas regarding sex *need* to be broken down. Sex education, sex workers, all of it needs to be discussed and examined because if we keep this all under wraps, we're not letting the right people have the discussion. We ultimately tear ourselves apart using either hushed tones or bigotry against topics regarding sex and sexual attraction.
that's just my two cents, anyway
So Iâve seen some posts going around saying things like âboycotting doesnât work, donât bother boycotting Eurovision because theyâve already been paid. The only thing you can do to help is donate to organisations.â People are only saying this to absolve themselves of guilt. Donât let them make you think that boycotting doesnât work. It does.
Boycotting means that Eurovision will have a much harder time finding advertisements who want to partner with them, which means less funding overall. Boycotting means that they receive less money from televoting, ticket sales and merchandise. Boycotting means that their view count drops significantly and puts pressure on them to change their current practices. Boycotting means you wonât let Eurovision distract you while bombs are falling on Palestine. And most importantly: boycotting means sending a clear message that you will not stand for their support of Israel.
Eurovision is not staying apolitical. They have taken a political stance by letting Israel compete, just like they took a political stance when they banned Russia from competing. They are perfectly capable of banning countries for committing war crimes, so allowing Israel to compete shows that they are accepting and excusing Israelâs genocide. They are also sponsored by an Israeli company (MoroccanOil) so if youâre wondering how Eurovision could POSSIBLY side with Israel, thereâs your answer: money.
Donât give them any of yours. Donât give them your viewership. Boycotting works, and if youâre feeling guilty for watching Eurovision, good. Feel bad. People are being killed, tortured, families torn apart and houses being bombed as we speak, so forgive me if Iâm not sympathetic over you not being able to watch your fucking song contest. Not everything is about you. Youâre going to have to feel uncomfortable sometimes when thereâs a fucking genocide going on.
Lastly, not everyone is able to donate. Boycotting is a great way of helping if youâre not able to help financially. The Palestinian BDS National Committee and pro-Palestine organisations are encouraging people to boycott Eurovision, so even Palestinians themselves and Palestinian organisations are telling you that boycotting will help.
Eurovision is not worth it. You can find something else to do. Stream Hindâs Hall by Macklemore since all proceeds go to UNRWA. You can also help for free by starting your daily clicks on Arab.org.
And if you are able to donate, then great! Do that too:
And dear god, if youâre really not able to go without Eurovision then find a fucking way to pirate it. I am also begging people not to hate-watch Israeliâs entry because all that does is stop the boycott and make the viewerships spike again. The best thing you can do is fucking ignore them.
I would like to share the story of Khaled Smeer, who once lived a stable life as the manager of one of the largest malls in Gaza. In addition to his management role, Khaled worked as an English translator, leading a busy life filled with activity and interaction with others. He lived in northern Gaza with his family, and everything was going well until the war broke out.
As the conflict intensified and the bombings escalated, Khaledâs home was completely destroyed. In a matter of moments, he and his family lost everything they had; no home to shelter them and no resources to rely on. Life was no longer the same. Now, Khaled lives in northern Gaza, where conditions worsen every day. They are struggling with severe hunger, with no access to the basic necessities of daily lifeâno food, no clothing, and no safe place to stay.
In the face of this tragedy, Khaled decided to start a campaign asking for help. He isnât just asking for himself, but for all those who suffer like him. Khaled is trying to leave Gaza in search of safety and a chance to start over. However, he faces a significant obstacle: it costs 5,000 USD per person to leave when the border crossing opens.
Khaledâs words are filled with both pain and hope. Today, he is asking for your help, whether by sharing his story or donating to his cause. Every small contribution makes a difference. Thank you to everyone who reads Khaledâs story, and to all those who offer any form of support for Palestine. âĽď¸
