I made something very silly because I rediscovered this song on yt shorts
I am OBSESSED with these two (mainly Gumworth), kinda makes me upset how Maggey isn't much of a fleshed out character cause she has so much potential SOB
I have a question: am I the only one who is an absolute fan of Takoyama? I have no idea why, but I have full-on devotion for this octopus and I have complete faith in him despite the fact he would probably turn my hair into a growing afro. The fact that, in the japanese version, he's not consistent with his pronouns is also pretty funny! Anyways, love this hairdresser.
I posted my voice over on mah YouTube channel, hype it up if yall can!
I am VERY proud of this thumbnail aswell heheh
Also i used this model of the office for the thumbnail, it's SO WELL MADE
aa x voicaloid posting plus gumworthies at the end
“Hey, wanna go to the mall today?”
a personal challenge to see how many characters/references I could fit into one picture, could definitely still do more!
Edit-For everyone asking how long it took, 2 weeks of planning and a little less than month to draw/edit (I work fast)
Turnabout Big Top is unanimously the worst case in the entire series, but you know what REALLY pisses me off about it?
IT COULD HAVE BEEN GOOD.
Like- GOSH, it's just. IT HAD SO MUCH GODDAMN POTENTIAL AND THEY RUINED IT!!! I WANT TO RIP MY HAIR OUT LISTEN;
- Flamboyant famous slightly haughty magician that's secretly Southern Farm Boy? I LIKE THIS. IM MAD THEY DIDNT DO MORE WITH THIS, THIS WAS A GOOD CHARACTER QUIRK!! his stage name being Max Galactica and his actual name being Billy Bob Johns?? NOT THAT BAD!!
- Ventriloquist man who's personality is almost opposite of what his puppet's is, and who Interacts directly with it? I GENUINELY ENJOYED THE BEN-TRILO SCENES! THE DYNAMIC WAS FUN!! (also Ben being unable to function without his puppet what is going on with this man) HE WAS AN INTERESTING CHARACTER!!
- Acro?? Acro. Like. up to this point in the ace attorney series we haven't had a culprit like him, someone who did what they did and SUPREMELY regrets it and understands that it was horrible etc etc and doesn't try to defend their crimes whatsoever because they KNOW it was a horrible thing to do; I THINK ACRO IS INTERESTING!!
- HINTS OF MILES AND WHAT HAPPENED?? PHEONIX+FRANZISKA GRIEF?? tired asf gumshoe?? (we don't talk about his "dead body, stage left" line enough)
BUT THEN THEY TURNED AROUND AND
- The stupid fucking love triangle good god this is the worst part I'm going to vomit Regina is 16 AND IT. EUGHHH. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THE WRITERS FOR THIS, SERIOUSLY, THEY HAD THESE INTERESTING CHARACTERS AND INSTEAD OF EXPANDING ON THEM they made them fucking predators I just. god.
- REGINA IS A FUCKING CHILD, WHO HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE OUTSIDE WORLD, AND THE NARRATIVE IS TRYING TO FRAME ACRO KILLING HER AS.. SYMPATHETIC?????? (Imo I think it makes Acro's grief more fascinating, and exploring his mental state is super interesting, but I know a lot of people have qualms with this, which I understand. Like. WTF Acro???)
- the stupid goddamn solution to the case good lord it was so dumb. so.. so fucking CONSEQUENTIAL. like. GOD.
TLDR; I hate Big Top because it could have been a genuinely interesting case, but it was ruined for such SMALL reasons that really had no positive????? like. getting rid of the bad stuff and replacing them w/ other things (Max and Ben could still have a rivalry ffs especially considering how vindictive Trilo is) and like??? HHHH. sorry I just hate how dirty this case was done there's so much good shit but the bad shit is just so... bad..
From the moment I saw this i knew i had to draw it. My precious boi with his emotional support cactus.

Took two days to make this stupid shit but honestly I'm proud of myself!
I really like to think of them all hanging out and practicing for shows n stuff, man If I could rewrite some of these characters I would 😭 (Also don't hate but I fucking LOVE Ben and Trilo they are my second favorites in this case next to Moe)

I think kind of an underrated element of gumshoe and Edgeworth’s dynamic is that gumshoe didn’t really like him at first
And in general, that gumshoe isn’t blind to Edgeworth’s flaws. We all joke about about gumshoe worshipping the ground edgeworth walks on (for good reason not denying that) but he’s perfectly aware edgeworth isn’t perfect. Which I think makes his devotion realer and sweeter
And he definitely pokes fun at him too
April May: a fan backstory.
Ah yes. This is my attempt to make an one-off character who showed up once in the entire series and never appeared again an actually likeable character. And yes, I know there are one-off characters who are actually likeable, but its cause they at least have a personality.
April May doesn't. She's just horny bait. And despite the fact that I hate pink, her design is pretty okay. So I decided to make her at least a bit more likeable by giving her a minimally decent backstory.
So let's start with the fact that she's pretty young, like, college age. I feel like she'd be interested in fashion and modeling. And to help her pay the college rent, she sent out numerous job applications. She has quite a few talents, namely her singing and sewing, but her most notorious trait is her charisma. I don't think she is that flirty by nature, it's probably just a persona she created so she could lure men into doing whatever she wanted, but honestly, I don't think she created that persona purely because she wanted to. Prior to her job at Bluecorp, I think she was mostly herself, with some flirty comments here and there but not in abundance. She was pretty kind and chill. There was no pressure into being a flirty character at all times.
And then she was called to a job interview, and accepted as a secretary at Bluecorp. She was tricked into thinking it was a "detective agency of sorts", and during her first days, her job was pretty normal. But then, the company's true colors started revealing to her. Until one day, where she was personally called to the CEO's office, and could finally meet her boss in person.
He answered all of her questions with that bright smile and loud voice of his, which we're all familiar with, and he explained that Bluecorp was, in fact, a blackmail company. She attempted to fire herself, but now that she knew the truth, there was no way back. They already knew everything about her, and if she attempted to reveal everything to the police, all of her personal information would be leaked. She had no choice but to stay, forever a subordinate to Redd White.
He knew that her physical appearance could deceive many people into trusting their company, so he forced her to create a persona, the flirty and charming persona we all know. From there, she was never able to be herself anymore. They absued of her beauty and natural charisma to lure more victims into their company, and she couldn't do anything about it but oblige.
When the Mia Fey case happened, she felt bad for the murder of an innocent woman and having to accuse her younger sister of a crime she didn't commit, but worse of all, the was being obligated to commit a crime herself. We all know what happened there. When Phoenix exposed her crime of wiretapping, she exploded, and got super mad at him, to the point of refusing to tell him anything even in prison.
But to be honest... I don't necessarily think she was just mad at him. She was also... scared. Scared for both Phoenix of herself. Scared of her boss, who she now knee was capable of even murder. Even if she was already in prison, she was scared of what could happen to her. She was scared for Phoenix and what could happen to him, because her boss wasn't really just any opponent. And when she saw him in the detention center that night, she couldn't say she was surprised. She knew that would happen.
What she didn't expect to happen was for him to not only defend himself, but also finally expose her boss' true self. For him and that woman to expose every single one of his crimes. Redd White was finally taken down. And even though she was in prison, she finally felt free. She could be herself again, she no longer hated Phoenix, as he was the one resposible for making White finally confess. Now, I don't think she would have a very long sentence for perjury and wiretapping, so in probably less than 10 years she would finally be released from jail.
And speaking of that, since Redd White was much more dangerous and his crime list was enormous, he was sent to a different penitentiary, one with much higher security, so she wouldn't have to deal with him during her time in jail.
I assume by the time of Spirit of in 2028, she would have been released already. I think she would either have a modeling agency or would work in a fancy clothes shop, following her previous dreams of studying fashion and/or being a model.
Personally one of my favorite F/F Ace Attorney couples. They have so much in common. They both had shitty bosses, they both attempted to frame Maya Fey (lol), and headcanon wise, they both had a tragic past and regretted their actions. And recently, I saw an official artwork of April as a nurse (and incredibly enough, it wasn't even all that sexualized, she looked like a normal nurse) and as we all know, Mimi is a former nurse. Even though Mimi's crimes were much more severe and their relationship is doomed to fail, they can at least give it a try. After all, most of my OTPs are doomed couples anyways :')
And they make the lesbian flag together.
