i'm making a zine about furby fashion!

inspired by the stylish furby (jpn) (eng) magazine that was released by tomy in 1999, but this time featuring the energy of what the modern furby fandom has become in 2025 (anarchic/queer/DIY/subversive/surreal/filtered through several layers of internet brain).

you can let me know if you're interested in contributing here! i'll do my best to reply to everyone ASAP, deadline for this volume is March 1st, but if there's enough interest i may publish more in the future?

also i do most of my Furbyposting on my instagram if you wanna follow me there.

please note that this is for artists 18 & over, just because i want to be wary of different legislation around collecting & sharing folks' information - but you can always make your own zine!

what art program do you use? Is it specifically for pixel art?

I actually use firealpaca and a pixel brush I found online! The program itself and the brush are both free

I will say the brush I use isn't the best since it doesn't actually follow a good system so I'm planning on doing some fiddling with it and/or looking for a new one

WHAT KIND OF FURBY IS THIS PURBLE GUY

He's actually a WIP custom I never finished, I believe he was originally one of these guys before I dyed his fur?

He was supposed to be Mothman themed, I still wanna finish him to cement that but idk

please note that this furby is glitchy but isn't functioning, it just makes weird noises when i put batteries in 😭😭 so best as a display furb!

i vote that Coming Out Cakes should become commonplace.

when, for instance, a teen confides in their parents about their gender/sexual identity, that act of self-discovery and trust should be celebrated with a cake. or dinner out at their favorite restaurant. or both. show queer loved ones that you don't just love and support them--you also celebrate them. you celebrate them with cake.
