So, I had this commission for a friend that I finally finished—I have to say that I’m proud of myself for getting Photoshop CC’s current liquefy tool to recognize this as an actual face and let me make a few slight tweaks as if it was a photo of an actual person. I legit did not expect that.
This is my Day 1 for Inktober—and like a total nerd, I decided to draw a greyscale Alolan Muk for the theme of “Poisonous”.
I know Alolan Muk is super colorful, but I’m thinking that keeping the greyscale palette that I intend to keep for my (mostly neglected) webcomic would be good practice.
I decided to design business cards and a logo for my roommate’s corgi, because she’s absolutely precious, and I keep taking so many photos of that adorable corg that my roommate and I agreed to make her an Instagram and help run it in my spare time...because my design work doesn’t need to be clogged up by Truffles 24/7. (You can actually follow that corgi dog over here!)
While we haven’t bothered to print the cards yet (because Truffles the corgi isn’t popular enough to warrant printing business cards in the near future), I do have a print ready Adobe Illustrator file on hand for the event that her business cards ever get printed.
For now, I’m just going to keep the mockup version of her cards on hand. (BTW, I used a modified version of this mockup. After all, edge painted cards are a real thing, and that was something I modified myself.)
Gonna do another Twitch Stream soon! Feel free to stop on by in the near future!
Upon realizing that I’m less than a year (hopefully...) from graduating with two degrees, as well as noting that there’s only a six month grace period between graduation and loan repayment—and therefore, only six months to find a full-time job, hopefully in one’s field...
...I recalled how my high school graduation went, and how I didn’t cry the expected tears of joy, but tears of agony, because life wasn’t going to get any better (and unfortunately, it kind of went as expected.)
I honestly don’t fathom that undergraduate graduation is going to be much better, so I ended up making an illustration about the stress before, and the future stress that looms overhead...and how no ceremony can make either of those things go away.
Guess who updated his own logo to be a bit sleeker. This guy. Guess who's about to put his own portfolio site back up online? This guy. Guess who's going to try to get back into design while we goes back to school for a Statistics degree. Have a goofy, transparent Sonic the Hedgehog.
It was something I wanted to do for Dumb Running Sonic, but never got to. I still haven’t gotten to animating the poor guy, either.
Also, it was inspired a bit by Ren and Stimpy. There may be an accompanying Tails in the near future. (So far, he kinda looks creepy more than gooby, so I don’t know how I feel about my Tails prototype.)
I officially have two finished webcomic pages now! I’m pretty happy about this development.
Also, my attempt at playing Passpartout was pretty fun, although I was sad that my favorite doodle of them all didn’t sell in the game. Oh well.
Here's an after-work selfie that absolutely no one asked for! Also, yes, I do have a day job. Sometimes it's why I come home and then don't do any art or design. Not always, but sometimes.
I appreciate this advice...also, I think this puts yet another bullet point under "Let's establish some boundaries at work and shut off availability on at least Tuesday".
Maybe more streaming would be in order as well.
I’ve noticed that I’m quite abysmal at keeping up drawing whenever I have a new partner in my life.
I love art and design, but I’m absolutely infatuated with my bae, and it’s conflicting. because I don’t know how to balance both loves at the same time, as well as my day job.
I don’t know what to do with myself at the time, and advice would be lovely.
Things I don't like about DuoLingo; generally not understanding the contextual nature of things. Also, not taking my spelling of theatre. Plebs.
Greetings and salutations! I'm a graphic designer/illustrator, and this is my Tumblr. Feel free to check my about page for more info about me. Also, I only post my own things here—almost all reblogs will go to @dandyreblogs. Check that out if you're into aesthetics and other curious things.
