Currently thinking about how Saiki got SO pissed about the bullies having beaten up Akechi that he pretty much blacked out and ended up destroying the classroom and hurting everybody in the room accidentally.
And how later, when Kaido and him were getting robbed, he just let it happen, and when they got the opening to run and Kaido got caught again and the thugs told him "you know we're going to beat up your friend, right?" he just kept running, fully willing to just get himself out of that situation.
Until Kaido expressed his relief that at least Saiki would be okay in his thoughts and he just... couldn't do it.
Like. He was trying SO hard not to care because last time he cared, his powers went out of control and he caused a disaster. And he's been in denial for so long about his friends being his friends because Akechi was his friend and his emotions got too compromised by that fact.
But he still couldn't do it, not when Kaido cared so sincerely about him.
He was willing to let Kaido find out about his powers right there and then to save him. And I cannot imagine the Akechi incident wasn't on his mind through the whole thing.
say his name three times!
i don’t really understand when death note fans are like. “why didn’t [character] do [morally correct thing] instead?” well that’s because everyone in death note is a wretch
“why did L do [horrible awful thing] if he’s supposed to be the good guy?” because he’s not a good guy he’s a horrible bastard and opposing a bad guy doesn’t make him a good guy and that’s what’s beautiful about him. plus he was getting off on it
The beginning of Cookie Run Kingdom be like:
reagan ridley really is the character of all time. she’s canonically autistic, she’s a genius, she’s morally grey, she’s always sleep-deprived and on the brink of death, she has a mechanized prosthetic finger, she’s responsible for the creation of the singularity event, she’s fuelled by rage and adderall, she’s got severe daddy issues, she reversed the collapse of time and reality, she hates 80s movies, she has deep-seated problems with intimacy, she built a robot of the man she wanted to ask out because she was too scared to talk to him, she has repressed trauma, she reverse carrie-d her high school prom, she once crawled around inside her own brain, she’s touch-adverse, she erased her boyfriend’s memories, she controls the shadow government. she even faked her own death
