Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has started filming!

According to the official site for the City of Toronto (toronto.ca) which is tracking series and movies currently in production in the Toronto area, cameras on Strange New Worlds started rolling on February 18 2021. Last day of shooting is listed as July 30 2021. The cast and crew will be filming at the CBS Stages Canada production facility in Mississauga.

Star Trek: Discovery’s Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn are reprising their roles as Captain Pike, Spock and Number One (Una).

The series will follow the trio “in the decade before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.”

Florida-based fantasy cat artist Carrie Hawks and her family recently adopted Anakin (“Ani”), an absolutely adorable male kitten born without a pelvis or back legs, describing him as a “miracle”. Hawks has created a comprehensive FAQ about Anakin and his life and runs his Facebook page (link) and Twitter feed (link) so that his new fans can watch his progress as he grows up.
