I Adore The Coco Wyo Colouring Books, Especially Spooky Cutie. If I Could Add Some More Vampire Pages,

Can’t get enough of the Department Q books. Normally this genre isn’t my thing (too much of a scaredy cat) but the link with MG was too tempting and now I’m hooked. Difficult, awful subject matter but Carl Mørck is such a comedic and compelling character that I can’t help but read on. Great writing and translating, in my opinion.

I’m currently on Book 3. Made myself a silly bookmark; I know MG’s photo isn’t right AT ALL (from the glimpses we’ve had of filming) but hopefully there’ll soon be some promos from the show and I can make a better one🤞

Thank you for reading ❤️🙃 It completely lacks coherence - ‘random moments of disjointed daydreaming’ might be a better description of it. But it’s the process of writing that’s fun and valuable in terms of escapism, so I’m ok with a flawed product. Same with the edits and drawings. For me, Lazar is the perfect escape… as might be a teeny bit obvious? ❤️🧛😉

I did the most incredible tutorial by @lilyith yesterday. She is one of my favourite digital artists and I love her style. What’s more amazing is that she has put so much time and effort into sharing her skills and process so that hobbyists like me can improve their skills. I found the tutorial so useful.

So (obviously) I had to try Lazar. And (obviously) the reference came from @asgoodeasgold - thank you 😘 He’s on the beach, which makes zero sense but I don’t care because the reference is just 👌🖍️🏖️🧛🖤

I’m enjoying messing around on Procreate again. Photoshop would probably be the better platform but I’d need to take some serious lessons. Maybe in the summer holidays.

✍️ Tonight I‘ve been working on some digital drawing techniques and process learned from the @liliyth tutorials I did yesterday as well as trying out some of her brushes in Procreate. I‘m not sure the finished result looks like Melissa in the end, but I was trying to capture the coy mood of the reference (swipe left and please let me know if you know who to credit for it - I found it on Pinterest and now can‘t find the original source 😬). The brushes are ace and I am loving experimenting with liliyth‘s process and style. BIG fan of hers.

Yep, I’m still daydreaming about Lazaar. And having fun drawing him on Procreate. Tried the brilliant tutorial by Laura Rubin, in her book, and some of her fab skin brushes. I ended up overworking it (as usual 🙄) and doesn’t massively look like him BUT I was trying to capture the mood and that look.
