Bumblebee headcanons!
Physically he is closest to a white beaked dolphin; however he also has a lot of clownfish traits due to how his subspecies evolved to fit a similar environment to clownfish. This subspecies talk using clicks and whistles; and cannot talk human speech or even fish speech. Most mer’s can understand the inflection of what they say despite this
I imagine he was caught in the middle of the wave and brought pretty far inland due to it; landing close to a rural house, marshy area and small pond. Sari Sumdac found him while hiking through her dad’s property and became his friend. Once they learned each others languages, bee tells her that he is homesick and they eventually end up taking a road trip together to where bee said his home is; eventually finding the flooded city along the way.
