10 years ago it was a standard for phones to have a headphone jack and a set of wired earbuds included in the box. You payed for the phone only and had all the essentials you need. Now with most high end phones not only you pay for the phone itself, you also need to buy a set of wireless headphones. Aside from being more costly this "solution" also generates more e-waste, pollution due to higher demand for production and uses up lithium for battery production.

Combining this factor with arise of disposable e-cigarettes, electric cars, enshittification causing a decline of build quality and longevity of modern products with the fact that a lot of people still don't care for a proper recycling of used electronics we are going to deplete world's lithium deposits quicker than oil
