After seeing a lot of fnaf fan games or fnaf inspired projects, I wanted to try my hand to design a animatronic. I’m not sure what kind of project I would use her for, but she came out so cute that I wanted to show off the design. I do have some thoughts on her that I’ll share below.
Her design was inspired by calico critters, I thought that the aesthetic of the toys fit the theme of the area she works in. I was originally going to have her arms segmented like the animatronics in Five Nights At Freddy’s, but after looking at the animatronics from Showbiz Pizza, having her arms covered in fur makes more sense to me as she was designed to be more calming and trusting to kids.
Namely, this animatronic is a painter that lives in a cutesy teatime entertainment center. Her along with her friends try to encourage kids to express themselves (the other characters would be a chef, a writer, and a musician). The establishment that she was made in was meant to be sorta the opposite of Freddy’s. The establishment was made with the well meaning attempt to give kids a safe space to do fun activities. While it’s been joked that Freddy’s is a sort of crappy pizza restaurant, here the establishment was made with care and with kid’s safety and fun as the priority. This doesn’t mean that trouble doesn’t come, however.
If you’ve seen my cyborg/animal design and the alpaca on the profile, the design was very much inspired by what I use as my persona.
I’m not gonna tag this as fnaf cause honestly I’m not really sure if I would consider her a fan character.
Hey! Thanks for reading this. Maybe in the future I’ll talk more about these ideas that I have.
Every cent counts. I need the money to fund myself in case situation at home goes awry. I will officially work on commissions on May, but you are welcome to reserve a slot. I have 10 open.
EDIT: I receive payments upfront now!
Still planning to work on the second Insomnia video, here's a doodle meanwhile.
I also have a big doodle dump with designs and concepts that I'm sure you guys will like, once the video is finished.
Welp, to cope with stress I have gone ahead and started designing a plush pattern for Glisten. He's kinda designed to work like a fashion doll where I can make him clothes and accessories. Think I'll make him jointed too.
Right now im using adobe illustrator to plan out the pattern since vector graphic make it easier to edit things and adobe lets you measure the length of lines in inches which helps with scale. (If yall know an alternative that can do the same thing please let me know).
Figured id keep yall updated on the plush making progress, right now glistens hair is stressing me out, im planning on using a technique similar to The-Crafty-Kaiju's method on Deviantart wish me luck, definitely gonna test it when i can.
Finished Liam's zippers btw, ill post a pic or video when i can.
My sister likes Character D so I drew Character D. I may call him Dennis
I’ve been really interested in joining the stick figure fighter community, and lo and behold a new character.
Ciel was raised in a church and trained as a medic. She’s kind and loves to help whoever needs it, but if someone demands a fight she will oblige. Her true power however lies in a deep secret hidden within her. Her entire body except for her arms are contained within a special armor set that can only be removed with a special key that Ciel has. The smooth white skin on her arms can turn viscous and morph into whatever Ciel desires. The nature of her powers is unknown to the outside world, but Ciel was told as a child that the church rescued her from a sinister place. After the death of her father figure and leader of the church, Ciel decided to join the stick figure battles to gain control of her powers, help those in need, and maybe come to terms with her mysterious origin. As for the key she was given, Ciel doesn’t dare to look at it.
Got a pattern for glisten down! still need to test it but I'm super happy! Can't wait to put it together and see how it goes. I still have to properly break down the pattern into a printable file but ill worry about that when i know the pattern works. Gotta also worry about his accessories but we're getting there!
More details under the cut!
decided to make glisten's foot in 3d to make a better pattern piece out of it, then sent it to adobe illustrator and traced it and adjusted it to make sure the pieces fit correctly. Gotta make sure it works though cause i only used plushify for 3d models, im worried it wont come out right
the rest is merely a matter of breaking down the pattern into front and back pieces so its pretty self explanatory.
besides that my main concern is making the joints functional but stable. theres also the thickness of the head compared to the body (since the body is only a front and back piece. but i imagine its an easy fix cause i can trim the side head piece. also the seam allowance might be too big but trimming should fix that.
already have the fabric ready for it too. I was gonna prototype it but im kinda impatient plus i imagine the adjustments ill need to do are minor so we ball.
im looking forward to finishing this project. Glisten is a huge comfort character to me and i wanted to make something that i can share with other fans and encourage sewing as a hobby. the pattern still needs some work i think but i look forward to sharing it with yall for free.
that said, please dont spread this around (yet) or try to profit off it. if you want to try out this pattern as it is right now, just be sure to credit me and let people know that pattern isnt finished and redirect them to this post (or some of my other ones) if they're curious. thanks yall
So I have been drawing recently but a schedule change in my life kept me from uploading art and also sucked away the energy to upload anything. But I’m back and here’s a recent character design. I’d love to use her for something.
WOAH OBJECT OCS!! I have a couple of ideas cooking up for an object show, but I designed these guys as a challenge to myself. Hope you like them, feel free to ask any questions about them.
Here’s a doodle, a new animal friend!. Inspired by the bar poet from one of those odd kirby commercials
