sunghoon's absolutely crazy friend. always there to make him smile and make him happy. a total puppy whenever he sees his friends, excited for any hang-out, but once he jumps in his car, he's a whole another man. concentrated, fierce, powerful. drives on those streets like he owns them. big flirt, yet his soul is innocent. just tries to love everyone and succeeds, because all of his friends are emo and in need of love. also a really smart student of Decelis Academy, part of sunghoon's class (along with jay).

YANG JUNGWON

sassy model with the biggest heart. gets so many pick-up lines, he hates hearing them by now so he sometimes slides one in sunghoon's dms, then acts like nothing happened. has a cold expression, but that's only because he's so tired of the modeling industry and its strict rules. wants to come to street races but can't because he'll be recognized by all the students of the academy that swarm the place. that really cuddly friend who always rests his head on hoon's or jay's shoulder when they're hanging out together. a softie that needs to be protected.

PARK JONGSEONG

people actually think he's responsible, but he's quite literally the first one to fly with his car, dominating the streets at every race. every night, every day, he's out; either partying with his friends or losing his time in a library, falling asleep with a book on his face until jungwon comes to collect him. jay's a mess, but his friends cannot thank the universe enough for having him in their group. sunghoon treasures him and his friendship too much for his own well-being.

NISHIMURA RIKI

mischevious little prick. would do anything to stop being scolded by his parents, but somehow does the opposite of what they want anyways. calls everyone old just because he can. always has a smirk plastered on his face when he sees sunghoon because they always cause trouble together. sees him as a role model because he wants to take over his father's place in his family business too, and he admires sunghoon very much for all the things he went through.

LEE HEESEUNG

the only responsible one in his group. don't let that fool you, he can beat someone to a pulp if they hurt his friends, and will not care about it. the father of his friend group just because he loves taking care of them. is only sweet to his group of friends. everyone is scared of him and his powerful presence when he walks on the hallways of their academy. an absolute boss when it comes to racing and will flex in everyone's faces that he's the ace. falls asleep in his car way too often and sunghoon always has to come and carry him home. also, hoon's right hand and most trusted person.

self-explanatory. she's the queen of the street races. the well-known goddess that rarely appears at night when everybody's already drunk, with an angel mask on her face and a sly smirk on her lips. confident, talented, and ruthless. will step on anyone who will stand in her way. has everyone at the races wrapped around her little finger, but she hides a big secret. nobody knows it, and she wants her identity to stay hidden, so that's why she only writes her thoughts on a private twitter account.

three: the meet up

Sunghoon fumbled with his fingers as the old secretary gave him smiles every now and then. To be quite frank he was panicking over this tutor.. was he someone familiar?, would he judge him for his stupidity?, were they even a he??, questions clouded his mind. Alongside this was the slight guilt of leaving his girlfriend at the side of the street upon notification. Maybe he could get her some snacks on the way home? His thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of footsteps down the hall as he unconsciously brushed over himself, straightening the wrinkles in his sweater. “Hey!” she spoke as he jumped in his seat startled at the voice, eyes meeting hers as he stared. That‘s pretty much all he did actually… he stared the whole time until a cough from the other lady in the room shook some sense in to him. “Ah, Hi I’m Sunghoon” she nodded her head in response pulling out a notebook from her beige tote bag. “I’m Aerin! Kang Aerin, It’s nice to meet you” she gave him a smile which he returned. “May I have a second? I just need to jot a few things down” she asked, he replied with a simple hum. He glanced at her a few times covering it up with a smile on attempts to look polite. “So what do you find challenging Sunghoon?” his facial expression shifted in confusion, “Huh?”. A chuckle left her lips “What’s hardest for you in the course? anything specific?” she repeated in attempts to make things simple. “I understood what you said the first time I’m not thaaat stupid, I didn’t know I had to have specifics ready” He spoke again quite playfully as her smile only grew. “Pretty” he thought but quickly shook his head. “So.. are you free this week?” she said as his eyes widened in disbelief, “I have a girlfriend” he spoke a little too loud, he would never do anything to hurt you like that. She suddenly burst in to a fit of laughter at his confession, “I’m not hitting on you, it’s so I can plan out our study schedule” his cheeks flushed red at the information. “Uh yeah I’m free after Wednesday next week” he spoke quite embarrassed avoiding eye contact. “Alright! well I didn’t really have much planned out it was just a quick meet up so I’ll see ya!” she spoke almost rambling, and damn the girl was fast. He grabbed his coat trying to catch up, “WAIT” he yelled startling himself and her as she flinched at his voice. “Yeah?” she replied, it was late so he thought it would be nice, “I’ll walk you home” he shyly spoke rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s fine really you look like a busy dude” his eyes shot up, “No, No really It’s late so I insist” her eyes lit up at his kindness “Thank you.” The two began to walk in silence as the night wind and singing crickets accompanied them. It was comforting at most, not an akward kind of silence between to who weren’t quite friends but not quite strangers. “DAZED DAZED DAZED” a sudden sound broke through the moment as Sunghoon rummaged through his pocket to retrieve his phone. The Caller ID read “my love<3” as he glimpsed at the time, realization hit him.

“Hey love are you alright? It’s been quite a few hours just wanted to check up on you”

“I’m so sorry I didn’t let you know bubs the meeting took a little longer than expected”

“Noo you don’t always have to notify me, everyone has their moments I just wanted to make sure you weren’t hurt or anything..”

“I’m alright just making my way home soon I don’t think I’ll be able to come over I’m so sorry y/n I really am”

“It’s no problem, really, get home safely! I’m gonna head to bed so goodnight, I love you more than I can describe”

“and I love you even more, goodnight baby I hope you dream of me” he spoke chuckling as the call cut off.

He almost failed to notice the presence of the other girl who simply stood waiting. “You must really love her” she spoke purely what she thought. “I do, I really do” he replied smiling back. would he stay truthful to his word?…only time will tell.

a/n: hello!! i have been writing about sunghoon a lot lately LMOAOA sorry abt that… also did anyone watch all of us are dead?!?!? like i need to vent to someone about it cause…..  anyways remember to look at the request guide here before you ask for one !!

it wasn’t unusual of sunghoon to call you whenever he had the slightest issue whether it is his bread burning because his toaster is “a spawn from hell” or how he can’t find his other sock. most of the time, you didn’t mind his frantic calls. it was rather cute how he felt the need to let you know by actually talking to you and not texting you. 

though, it did surprise you at first, he didn’t seem to be the clingy type or the one to call you often. you thought you called your friends too much, but sunghoon topped you. you never complain though, you sat and listened to his mindless rambles. for someone who is quiet, he sure is a talker when it comes to you. 

sunghoon felt safe whenever he called you. he knows it may get annoying from time to time so, he tries his best to only call you when it is really important. key word – tries. most of the time he fails but hey, at least he is making an effort. 

but today, sunghoon had called you about 5 times already in the last two hours. within those two hours, you have ben trying to tidy up your house for the new year. it is a superstition you always followed, you have to go into the lunar new year with a clean house. it is so you don’t bring any bad luck into the new year, plus your house was in need of a clean.  

hearing your phone vibrate on top of the counter, you reach over and answer it. “please, tell me this is an emergency sunghoon.” you say, scrubbing your sink. your arms were on fire but that didn’t stop you. 

“well, maybe you wouldn’t see it as an emergency, but for me, it definitely is.” he said defensively. 

“what is the emergency?”

“niki keeps on making fun of my height.” he whines into the phone. if he was in front of you, he would probably be pouting and kicking his feet like a little kid. 

you sigh, finally stopping your flow. “what do you want me to do?”

“tell him to stop!”

picking up your phone, you hold it to your ear as you walk out of your kitchen. “how do i do that?!?!” you exclaim.

“i don’t know,” he says. “threaten him!”

you find a comfy place on your couch. you are really proud of yourself for finding this couch off of facebook marketplace. “i can’t do that! he is a kid!!”

“y/nnn” sunghoon whines. before you can respond, there was the sound of screams and muffled running. “Y/N!!!!!!! HELP!”

“what?!? what’s happening?” you say, a tad bit concerned for your boyfriend over the phone. it wasn’t like there was an intruder in their apartment. suddenly there was silence, and then you heard niki. “hi y/n!!”

“hi niki..?” you say confused. “what happened to sunghoon?”

“oh, sunghoon? he is in a headlock right now… say hi, sunghoon.” niki says as he hands the phone to sunghoon. “y/n, help.” he gasps, dramatically. 

“okay! bye y/n!!! see you later!” niki says into the phone and hangs up. laughing to yourself, you wonder if this is what you have to deal with for the rest of your life. 

heeseung: the first time i met jay, he gave me two dollars. it wasn't necessary and nobody asked him to do it, but he still did it. he’s so nice.

jay: i thought he was homeless-

two people can be raised by the same person yet have vastly different experiences

In this silly little head of mine, Jason never saw Bruce and Dick fight. When he came into the manor and Dick felt like he has been replaced, he had the conscience to not scream at Bruce in front of the kid that has no fault on the matter. So screamed and cried because Robin, his mantle and his parents' legacy, was robbed and given to another person without his consent, he threw hands at Bruce for that. But never in front of Jason. Because Jason can't be blamed by Bruce's actions.

And as general rule, Bruce doesn't raise his voice when he's close to kids. Especially his kids, and especially kids that are traumatized, that are still raw from leaving a particularly difficult situation. He took this from Batman, from the very first year, and carried the habit to his sons

But after Jason dies? They're both drowning in blind grief

So when they fight, and they do fight, viciously, Tim is the one that is there to see it. He's the one the see all the ugly bits, the imperfections behind the mask– not only that, I don't think Jason as a kid ever saw his father cry. Bruce knew neither of his sons should ever carry his emotional baggage.

But Tim? Oh, Bruce's grief is a weight that presses upon his chest until he chokes, and the manor is so haunted by Jason's absence, emerged in such deafening silence, that Tim inevitably heard Bruce cry more than once. Until his own chest became so tight he needed to go and comfort Bruce too. This or he was going to go insane. He needed to fix it all, somehow

While Dick and Jason got to make play and silly tricks while in patrol, Tim, Cass, Steph and Damian got a Batman extremely paranoid with protocols, rules and safety measurements. Dealing with Gotham is a serious commitment and is not to be joked about.

So there's that. I'm not saying either Dick or Jason got a perfect version of Bruce. And I'm not saying that, in either case, Bruce is/was a bad father. On the contrary, Batman must always be a good father because of what he represent– what he is as a character

But, yes, being raised by Bruce pre and post Jason's death is a completely different experience

And it got me thinking about how Jason reacts to this after he comes back

hi, i'm kind of a newbie in comics and can you elaborate why pit madness is not real? thank you (i haven't got to the modern comics yet)

I’m pretty sure Pit Madness just… isn’t really a thing. There isn’t anything in Canon that outright says ‘the pit makes you crazy’

If anyone wants to correct me on anything, feel free to, because I’ve only read major comic book storylines

I think Pit Madness was made up in Fanon to justify Jason’s ‘insane’ actions— like eight heads in a duffle bag, or the attack on Titans Tower, or his whole pill helmet era— but they’re forgetting that Jason came back to life after being brutally murdered and I think he has a right to lose his mind a little bit after that, especially since he also had some major brain damage. It’s probably more likely that Jason has a chemical imbalance and has CPTSD, from his early life on the streets to the things that have happened to him during his time as Robin.

It’s also a way the fandom reinforce racist stereotypes about the Al-Ghuls. ‘But Talia threw Jason into the pit and pointed the pit madness towards Bruce’ that did not happen. Jason did most of his world tour on his own free will. He planned his return to Gotham all by himself.

In fact, Talia loves Bruce and she was finding Jason’s world tour, so she was probably guiding him away from killing Bruce.

Also, something something ‘Ras is a crazy creepy old man’ he wouldn’t be over 600 years old if the pit waters drive you insane.

I think there is a brief period of time RIGHT AFTER you emerge from the pit where you lose your mind, but it eventually wears off and it wouldn’t last for as long as the fandom makes it out to be, and it wouldn’t be flashes of Rage. It would probably be more akin to insanity, because it’s a cursed fountain of youth.
