with all the bs going in the US, the only way i can bring a smile to my face is when i remember that baby boomers, gen X, and possibly older millennials, consumed lead when they were younger. im…im not joking…
back in the 70s/80s doctors/scientists issued a statement to the public that they should make sure their kids not eat paint flakes, or chew on blinds bc lead was used in a lot of products like food cans, paint, blinds, etc (and doctors would ask parents this when they were brought to the hospital/clinic) kids chew and eat shit they arent supposed to, i would know, i was one of these kids.
and if u think im lying my dad told me this straight up. he blatantly told me mid convo that he would chew on the old lead weights that they used for fishing when he was a kid….
so when I start wondering why magas are the way they are…. i remember they consumed lead paint.
oh and that tv stations had to issue ads to remind parents that they have children and to love them….

I would like to bring to your notice @ashleymilesphil, who is a trans refugee from Uganda living in Kakuma Refugee Camp in South Sudan. Due to Uganda's anti-LGBTQ+ laws and general intolerence for members of the LGBTQ+ community, Ashley and other queer refugees have had to flee Uganda and live in a refugee camp. Life there is not easy either; they experience hatred and sexual assault.
Ashley is acting as a spokesperson for these members of the LGBTQ+ community and is asking for funds that will cover
Food
Clean water
Medication
Shelter
Ashley and her fellow refugees are dealing with unclean conditions, and are being exposed to many diseases that are common in crowded refugee camps, like malaria, cholera, tuberculosis, and typhoid. Some members also need medication for HIV/AIDS.

Donald trump has officially announced that ICE will be carrying out the first detainment raid within Chicago, Illinois, on Tuesday, January 21st. This raid will consist of at least 300 armed ice officers, who will target immigrants, they say illegal only but let’s be honest, they will target anyone they can. Those detained will be the first people selected to be deported in the trump administrations Hitlerian mass deportation plan as laid out in the project 2025 manifesto. This is truly a horrific day in American history, and it sets a precedent of lawlessness and unchecked dictatorship in action that will be unopposed and ruthless.
