Dabi really is the representation of the stored rage that eldest daughters carry within themselves…. Rage and anger at being laden with expectations- and when you finally crash under their weight you are thrown aside without any help from the very people who are supposed to be taking care of you

“His suffering will be proof that I existed” what a line. What a fucking line.

"Please?" You Whined, Giving Dabi The Biggest Puppy Eyes You Could Muster.

"Please?" You whined, giving Dabi the biggest puppy eyes you could muster.

"No." he grumbled, turning away from you and focusing his attention on his phone screen. Shigaraki was passing out orders in the group chat like crazy.

"But they don't have to be pink!" you whined, stomping your feet.

Dabi looked at you sceptically and rolled his eyes.

"I knew you didn't love me." you pouted turning away. He put his phone down with a groan.

"Princess, I'm one of the most feared villains in the entirety of Japan. You know I can't walk into the meeting with bright-coloured nails." he emphasized, throwing his hands in the air.

"But they'll look matching…" You pushed.

A few minutes later, you were sitting on his lap innocently painting his nails a midnight blue.

"Told you they match your eyes." you giggled, finishing up the last coat.

He hummed, smiling slightly.

one thing that will forever annoy me tho is that tomura couldn’t really interact with the league ever since the end of mva. compress being gone by the end of the plw… did tomura even know jin died did he know about the touya reveal (ig he did he saw the white hair but idk)

they loved each other so much. they deserved to talk one last time together… i know touya and toga got that but they all deserved it, together

please let me write a ‘crack treated seriously’ fic out of this T-T

dabi: why are you a hero?

touya: spite. why are you a villain?

dabi: spite.

touya: nice.

it has so much angst potential too though (like dabi realizing that, yes, he could have been a hero. it wasn’t impossible. he could have made it even without his father’s support)

I love the idea of Dabi and au Hero!Touya meeting, like, it would be so???? I can't even comprehend what it would be like.

i’m writing this from memory so please correct me if i’m wrong

i may have made a bit of a stretch in my first post so im correcting myself here

not everyone in the lov is fighting for a better world (like i don’t remember twice ever mentioning having goals)

shigaraki started as just someone who wanted to destroy everything but later started caring about his teammates (and in the lasts chapters before he gets detroit smashed into the sun, he says he wants to be a hero for the villains)

then we have spinner who wants to follow stain’s ideology. of course said ideology has a lot of problems but you get this idea of fighting corruption and everything

and finally you have mr compress who’s the descendants of Oji Harima (basically a Robin Hood) who’s been taught by his family to fight injustice.

(i’m not including dabi in that list because i feel like his whole ‘exposing endeavor as an abuser and hawks as a killer’ was more for selfish reasons than fighting for justice but i might be wrong)

The Problem with the League of Villains

this is just me ranting after reading many people say that the lov deserved a better ending (i agree with them don't worry). most of that stuff has already been said but i'm bored and need something to write

so why is everyone disappointed?

by definition, an antagonist is someone that goes against the main character(s) and a villain is someone who does immoral and/or illegal things (wow, shocking)

so by definition, the league of villains is aptly named. shigaraki and dabi are mass murderers, toga is a killer too, and even if the others are 'less dangerous' they're all guilty of terorism and kidnapping a teenager.

not nice, right? then why would anyone would want them to have a good ending?

long story short: horikoshi made the league too sympathetic and relatable

when horikoshi has decided to make them funny, he's decided to make them likeable. that's not enough though. you can find a fictional villain funny and not root for them (for some reason the examples that comes to my mind are the disney villains. captain hook is hilarious but no one wants him to win)

the cause of everyone's disappointment is the relatable part. everyone in the league has gone through stuff viewers can relate. touya, shigaraki and toga have been abused; twice has mental health issues (and stuggling to get a job is relatable too lmao); spinner has been discriminated against... you get the idea

and even without knowing their backstory, most of the league's fights can be considered noble: they want to change society and make the world a better place. to take a more precise example, the league kidnapped bakugou because they thought he had gone through similar struggle as them

The Problem With The League Of Villains

(this is mr compress talking in chapter 85) as far as i've seen, most of the fandom either think bakugou being chained and muzzled at the end of the sport festival was just comic relief or agree that it was fucked up

so yeah, you can't put a group of people rejected by society, who just want a better world and expect people to not like them

and that's why their ending is disappointing (the rest contains heavy spoilers of the last few chapters of mha)

they're all either in jail or six feet underground. we rationally could understand it, they're all criminals/villains so of course they wouldn't get a happy ending and face consequences for their actions. the only one who could have gotten away with it is shigaraki because of all the grooming/brainwashing he's gone through and maybe toga because she's a child

but if you relate to a character, you want them to get a happy ending. of course fans would want dabi to be at peace, but instead he's forced to spend his last moments being stared at by his abuser). of course fans would want shigaraki to be free from afo (but instead his only freedom was death). of course fans would want toga to be understood and cared for (but she never had that opportunity)

that's not very 'save to win' out of you horikoshi

maybe it's just a shortcut made by the fandom, but the league are seen more as victims of abuse than actual criminals. i mean, what's more important in dabi's story? the fact that he burned himself alive after overworking himself to get his abusive father's attention, or the fact that he's burned people alive? probably both, but there's more focus on the first element.

and obviously we would want abuse victims to get a happy ending

basically, their ending isn't coherent with what we've seen of them, and that's why people are disappointed

btw, the same logic applies to stain. some fans agree with stain's reasoning bc he's fighting against corruption. of course, his logic is stupid and he's delusional but he's introduced not long after we've discovered shouto's past. you can't say "one of the most popular heroes is abusing + all he wants is to get n°1 to satisfy his own ego" and then follow with "see that guy fighting against corruption? he's bad, don't do that"

the clever way to make sure no one would agree with stain would have been to make the heroes fight against injustice with good methods. i live for the fanfics in which izuku takes down the hpsc

okay i'm done ranting thanks for reading

not to be insane about Shigadabi on main but uh. Shigaraki who was so sure his only purpose in life, the only thing he is good for is destruction of everything around him, whether he wants to destroy or not. Wanting to become the saviour to the League and not even allowing himself to consider the thought properly, because everything he touches turns to dust, and no matter how much he wanted to protect his people, two of them winded up death and for the entirety of the second war he was unable to do anything to help them survive.

that Shigaraki learning that Dabi has survived the war and the combined efforts of his own suicidal tendencies and his father's attempt to take his life, and now has months left to live. That he is still going to die soon, despite seemingly being accepted by his family, despite Endeavor's fortune and the quirks and technology that are rapidly evolving, it's like they are not even bothering to try to save his life.

Tomura heals him with a single five-fingers touch. and for the first time since Dabi came into his life, he chooses Shigaraki and the League over his family.

Ik It's Probably Not That Deep But This Picture And Specifically Dabi's Hair Color + The Old Outfit And

ik it's probably not that deep but this picture and specifically Dabi's hair color + the old outfit and Twice's presence (while Magne is not there) seems to imply Shigaraki wasn't mentally present at all to register anything that happened from the first war onwards 😭

Check out my MHA Fanfiction!

I love writing especially when it is about something I love! I'll admit, my My Hero Phase never left. I've been on the series for about six years now and can't believe it' ending!

I've been writing a fanfiction across a couple different platforms to share my passion for the series. It's a Bakugo x Deku fanfiction and features an extra pissy Midoryia. The plot takes place after Bakugo gets stabbed, except Midoryia is told that he dies from the aftermath. It's been so much fun to write and I am updating regularly!

It's called "Who Saves the Hero?" and is available on Wattpad, AO3, and fanfition.net! If you're interested, you can check out these links below.

The fact that pro hero Katsuki doesn't give a fuck about the rankings anymore means that it was always about Izuku.

He just wants to compete with Izuku; it's all he cares about and always has.

Nothing really means anything if Izuku is not by his side.

That's why he spent eight years saving money for that hero suit and making sure every piece of it was perfect for Izuku.

I actually feel sick to my stomach about what happened to dabi. I'm not being hyperbolic. I was never abused but the fact that Dabi's abuser gets to visit him even though everyone knows what that man did is sick. Endeavor gets to stare at him through a pain of glass like dabi is a goddamn monkey in a zoo and dabi is too weak to even object.

the doctors: we’re sorry, but he won’t survive longer than a month

the todorokis: *crying because there’s no way touya could survive this*

touya: ahah BET

“8’years is a long time skip so dabi might as well be dead” mfs did yall forget when he was 16 and even the doctor said he’d die soon but he came back exactly 8 years later to join the LOV, still alive and kicking? Yall want Dabi dead so bad it’s pathetic at this point

With Izuku's strong moral compass, of course he'll find Shigaraki’s crimes revolting. And him saying he couldn't forgive him is a valid feeling. What was impressive, though, was when he saw Shiggy’s face seemingly asking for help, he didn’t ignore it. Right there and then, he tried helping. It was beautiful.

The thing with Izuku is that when he sees an opportunity to help, he tries his best to act on it at that exact moment. Even at the tender age of 16. He's not just preaching about morals, he's also backing up his principles with actions.

But it’s also important to understand that he’s just a 16-year-old high schooler. In the grand scheme of things, even with the greatest quirk(s) ever at his disposal, Izuku is but a speck. He can only do so much. To rely solely on his actions to enact change in society when he’s just a boy is asking too much of him. It will do us well to remember that when their society relied on one man, All Might, it made society more susceptible to destruction.

So, no. You can’t expect Izuku’s accomplishments to just, you know, magically change society. It’s a long battle. Years of reconstruction and recovery.

The thing we need to remember is that for all the bad, Izuku didn’t cave, but thought about how he can solve the issues drowning him. Because all this boy ever wanted was to help. And help he did. It doesn’t matter if his help is just a blip compared to the massive scale of evil at play. What matters is he did. He tried. You cannot expect change if no one will start it, and, bless him, Izuku started it. Sparked a change so early, even, right from freaking episode 1.

If anything, it will be weird to me if no one from the adults will change their perspectives at the end of the manga. Because change will only happen if many are on board with it. And the more influence you have? The more likely you’d help Izuku with his efforts to help unconditionally.

If no adults support or guide Izuku as he wonders how evil will end? That will be so painfully realistic.

mha chapter 430 spoilers

i will be forever grateful to anyone writing fics about Izuku’s first day as a teacher

like

imagine

nezu: hi everyone today we’re welcoming a new member in the team

izuku (in the most panicked tone possible): hi everyone!

aizawa: …

aizawa: what if this was my last straw

and then it turns out izuku is the best when students need help understanding their quirks (i feel like he’s teaching quirk science or something + teach them whatever all might was teaching)

the dabi urge stan to write a fic in which dabi heals (bc i’ll never let the phoenix quirk theory die) and makes sure endeavor knows he’s not forgiven

ignoring canon so hard because if I start thinking about Touya ending up as a plot device, a simple prop for Enji's character arc and getting no future beyond being the highlight of his abuser's change of heart, I will set myself on fire

Mr. Compress, in a jail cell.

Guard, standing outside the cell.

Mr. Compress: “Would you like to see a magic trick?”

Guard: “Make it quick.”

Mr. Compress, holding out a deck of cards: “Pick a card, any card!”

Guard, takes a card.

Mr. Compress: “Now close your eyes and hold the card to your forehead.”

Guard, following his instructions.

Mr. Compress: “On the count of three, open your eyes!”

Guard: “1… 2… 3.”

Guard, now standing in the jail cell: “What the—“

Mr. Compress, now outside the jail cell: “Reveal your card!”

Guard, flipping over the card, seeing an Uno reverse card: “Ohhh! Hey, that was pretty good!”

Mr. Compress: “Thank you, I’ll be taking my leave now.”

Guard: “Haha, okay— Wait, no, get back here!”

Mr. Compress running out of the room.

Okay, but imagine the LoV watching the news and some segment on Endeavor comes up and then Mr. Compress out of nowhere says in the most offhand tone, "You know, a year or so before all this started, I dated that guy's daughter for a couple weeks."

And Dabi has to sit there with his eye twitching and all, Wtf, wtf, wtf, wtf...wait, why do I even care? I don't care. Fuck it. Fuyumi can do what she wants. Touya is dead and Dabi does not care if some second-rate sideshow act wannabe-- "...did...you break her heart?"

"What? No, we weren't really all that compatible, we both agreed the age gap was a little much, I found out who her father was and that terrified me because what sane person wants that for an in-law, she was starting to question whether or not she was even heterosexual at all, so we broke it off like amicable adults and haven't spoken since. Really, young man, what do you take me for?"

Completely oblivious to the small world bs that's happening and the bullet he just dodged.
