I’ve always wanted to have really nice/cool looking stargate merch but they do not have many options for us, if any. So I decided to use my design/artistic background to make my own & share with all of you. For these designs, I went for a minimalistic approach but still cool to look at. The name stack of SG1, The Abydos Cartouche (which I drew/colored), & finally the There’s no place like Home: Earth Gate Address. These are available on various types of tees/tanks/sweaters etc in both male/female options, coffee mugs, phone cases & more! All of them come in sizes Small - 5XL & an array of color options & shipping is worldwide (some colors may not be worldwide). I will be doing new designs soon. Can’t wait to show you all what I have in the works.

We Found the Universe’s First Type of Molecule
For decades, astronomers searched the cosmos for what is thought to be the first kind of molecule to have formed after the Big Bang. Now, it has finally been found. The molecule is called helium hydride. It’s made of a combination of hydrogen and helium. Astronomers think the molecule appeared more than 13 billion years ago and was the beginning step in the evolution of the universe. Only a few kinds of atoms existed when the universe was very young. Over time, the universe transformed from a primordial soup of simple molecules to the complex place it is today — filled with a seemingly infinite number of planets, stars and galaxies. Using SOFIA, the world’s largest airborne observatory, scientists observed newly formed helium hydride in a planetary nebula 3,000 light-years away. It was the first ever detection of the molecule in the modern universe. Learn more about the discovery:
Helium hydride is created when hydrogen and helium combine.
Since the 1970s, scientists thought planetary nebula NGC 7027—a giant cloud of gas and dust in the constellation Cygnus—had the right environment for helium hydride to exist.
But space telescopes could not pick out its chemical signal from a medley of molecules.
Enter SOFIA, the world’s largest flying observatory!
By pointing the aircraft’s 106-inch telescope at the planetary nebula and using a tool that works like a radio receiver to tune in to the “frequency” of helium hydride, similar to tuning a radio to a favorite station…
…the molecule’s chemical signal came through loud and clear, bringing a decades-long search to a happy end.

only fools rush in by @andromeda3116 - Fake Dating! Christmas au. Complete. The fact that this fic is awesome is definitely old news by now, but it bears repeating that this is the fictional equivalent of a hot chocolate and the best hug and it’s reread potential is endless.
poco a poco by @canardroublard - Music school au. Complete. I mean, I love this fic so much I wrote a whole other one just to pay it tribute. It’s sweet and funny and sexy while never losing the rough edges that make us love these characters so much. Anytime I’d go back to check on a detail for the MITJ au, I’d end up rereading the whole thing because it’s so delightful.
find me by @lifeauthoredbymusic - Reunited exes/FBI au. Complete. Man, the author manages to pack eight years worth of romantic and sexual tension into this elevator and it is deeply satisfying when it’s resolved. I came back to this fic a bunch of times when writing the reunion scenes in my own exes au to try and capture some of its depth of feeling.
In the Shadows by @hurricanedancer - White Collar/FBI au. Complete. Just reread this last night and god it is GOOD. Great action scenes, wonderful dynamics throughout the ensemble and an achingly gorgeous relationship at its heart with pining that actually comes from a valid obstacle to the relationship rather than just obliviousness (though god knows I love that kind of pining too). It’s long enough to be deeply satisfying yet I still never want it to end.
the other a-team series by @birdhapley - Newsroom au. Complete. Holy lord, speaking of long, satisfying fics that break my heart when they end, these two fics are as close to perfect as any I’ve read. I have seriously shed tears over how good they are and they’re not even sad! Featuring: better Sorkin dialogue that Sorkin, great use of the ensemble, mutual competence kinks for days and just the best, realest confession scene that you’ve ever read. God I’m even tearing up just thinking about them. Fuck. They’re good, is what I’m saying.
The Softening Blows by @halflunar - College au. Complete. Man, I have waxed poetic about this fic many a time and for good reason. It paints its universe in colours so real and tangible you feel like you’re inside of it and perfectly captures the mix of giddiness and painful yearning of falling in love.
iron, salt, earth by @youareiron-andyouarestrong - Harry Potter au. WIP. I think about this fic a lot because it has such a fascinating and compelling universe, fleshed out even beyond HP canon. Within this universe is unfurling a truly thrilling plot combined with the heart-melting sweetness of the developing relationship between young Jyn and Cassian. I’m always desperate for each new chapter but what’s already written is more than worth a read or reread.
God, how crazy talented is this fandom, y’all? This doesn’t even scratch the surface of great fics out there but if I try and add more I’ll never be able to stop. Every author is a gift and I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for the literal years of enjoyment you’ve given me xxx

Remove the White Supremacists
Dear Tumblr @staff,
In light of the recent white supremacist terror attacks worldwide:
We, the Tumblr community (your community), implore you to change your previously passive policy against white supremacy and white nationalist extremist ideologies.
Every major news station, social expert, and experts on extremist ideologies have identified that these extremist ideologies are spread and grown on online platforms: specifically social platforms. They have identified the major ways that communities can confront these violent extremist views; the biggest one being for social media groups to actually start removing user accounts that post and spread extremist white nationalist dog whistles, memes, and rhetoric.
Your users are begging for your help in stemming the rising tide of xenophobic violence. As has become evident by the recent terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand, these ideologies don’t begin with violence, but with strategically spouted rhetoric and hate speech that riles up others who are vulnerable to being persuaded by their subtle methods.
Please. If you support the safety of your users. If you support the Muslim Community. If you support the Jewish Community. If you support People of Color. If you support your users regardless of color or religious background.
Then it’s time to start taking a proactive stance against extremist white supremacist and nationalist ideologies and remove them.

Stargate SG-1 Friendships
One of the many things I love about this show is that they weren`t afraid of intimacy between friends. They early on established that SG-1 is a group of people who are very close to each other and care deeply about each other. Like Sam put it into words once: “We were a team, Teal'c. No one can even begin to understand what we went through together, what we mean to each other.” So it was only natural they were comfortable with each other enough to share a hug or touch in the moments of great discomfort or the great joy.
The pilot episode of an obscure British sci fi series called “Doctor Who” premiered 55 years ago today.
