Almost forgot the last creature I made for the cryptid artbook project: the Chugaister from Ukrainian mythology. Described as a large bear-like man, naked and super hairy (with almost animal-like fur), that roams the Carpathian mountains. Despite his appearance, he is a benevolent creature and doesn’t seem attack humans unless provoked. In fact, according to tales, he’s quite friendly towards people. He doesn’t speak like humans, but if he encounters you camping in the forest, he will gladly join you to dance around a bonfire, engaging in a sort of friendly dance battle. He’s super chill overall, especially if you share your food.

Additionally, the Chugaister protects humans from evil spirits and dangers, including NIAVKAS.

You might have heard of "Mavka" from the cartoon "Mavka, the Forest Song." BUT Mavkas and Niavkas are separate beings in folklore (though there is some overlap). I remember reading these different interpretations of the same entity come from different regions (can`t find right now) , but generally:

Mavkas are benevolent, playful forest spirits, almost like forest nymphs with green hair. Niavkas, on the other hand, are described as having transparent skin on their backs through which you can see their organs, usually covered with long hair. They are considered extremely dangerous, akin to skinwalkers or certain types of Fae (if you’re familiar with Fae/Fey mythology).

People from the outside sometimes tell us to concede those lands, that Ukraine should sacrifice them or make a compromise. But that is not that easy when those lands in questione are not just pieces of teritory in Hoi4 but instead... someones home someones childhood someones life someones city they had to leave behind Imagine how betrayed you would feel if you were told that your home/street/city that you fleed, should be given up as some kind of sacrifice or exchange to those that came to destroy it, conceded like a resource in a game to appease

kind of weird how parts of your soul are left in various locations without any warning… like yes i’m always at the top of that hill, sitting at the bus stop, in the cool light of the Japanese restaurant, standing at the pier etc etc

Every day is Halloween day!

Sorry for dissapearing from tumblr for 50 years. So much Happened. I lost my phone, I had finals, I got a new phone and like 100 other things. But now im back! With this pumpkin. Yeah i know halloween has passed but i had such an urge to draw a jack`o lantern. Also this was my first time doing a more painterly look over the sketch in digital art.

Can`t believe i finally got back on my ADHD meds, to be able to participate in society actively...only for it to go to shit... more than it was. Just in time. I can watch political turmoil with a good attention span and an ability to concentrate

currently working on a character from one of my fantasy stories. Wasn`t really sure how to draw folds in the fabic since i dont draw characters like this very often (the cure for this is probably just more practice:). Still, any criticism is welcome. Also i`m trying out this technique i saw, with drawin everything in grayscale and then adding color with overlay or multiply

Really appreciate that there is a little list of other key words as dialogue options, that i can press to learn more about the details of the lore. Shame that i keep getting new keywords, and don`t have the time to go over all the previous ones in order because i get distracted by all the lore :\
