Prolonged Agony Chapter 23!

I decided it was probably about time I worked out a proper timeline, for my own sanity more than anything, since some chapters overlap.

I will update the timeline as the story progresses to avoid spoilers for those who are following along with the fic.

The timeline is rough and might be edited in the future, but as I said, this is mostly to help me keep track of everything lol

Major spoilers below!

Timeline.

Part 1: Getting Leo home.

1st: Canon portal - Divergence starts.

2nd: Directly after first.

3rd: Night time a few hours later - Mikey opens portal alone

4th: Next day - Afternoon - Failed to open

5th: Next day - Afternoon - Leo fights back

Night time: Mikey has Nightmare.

6th: ^ Same night - Mikey and Donnie opne portal alone

Next day - Donnie and Mikey argue 

7th: Next day - Morning - open portal with April and Casey

8th: Directly afterwards - SUCCESS!

Total days = 5 days.

Part 2: Leo is home

Directly after getting Leo home: 

Mikey refuses to see Leo.

April sees Leo's injuries.

April and Mikey talk.

Raph cleans Leo.

Donnie and Casey amputate Leo's arm.

Late afternoon:

Donnie goes to bed and has a nightmare.

Raph takes Donnie to med-bay.

Raph joins Mikey, April and Casey in the kitchen.

Raph, Splinter, Casey and Donnie have lunch in med-bay.

Leo wakes up.

Leo attacks family and portals away.

Total time: Midday to Evening. 

Part 3: Search for Leo + TCRI

(Chapters overlap)

Directly after portaling away:

Late Evening:

Leo portals to TCRI roof.

Leo portals to New Jersey and sleeps all night.

Eight hours later, very early morning:

Family recovers after Leo's attack.

Mikey goes to Draxum.

Donnie wakes up.

Casey goes to meet Cass.

The family starts to plan to search for Leo.

At the same time:

Leo wakes up and basks in the sun.

Donnie and April go to Run of the Mill.

Raph and Splinter talk with Big Mama.

Casey and Cass search along the river.

Mikey and Draxum go to Repo Mantis.

At same time:

Leo portals to the TCRI building and sneaks inside for information.

Donnie and April go to Purple Dragons.

Mikey and Draxum fight Meat Sweats/returns to Repo

Casey and Cass run into Hypno.

Splinter and Big Mama work out a deal.

At the same time:

Leo sets the TCRI building to explode.

Donnie and April fly around.

Mikey texts Todd.

Casey and Cass chat after Hypno.

Splinter and Raph start to leave Big Mama's Hotel.

The TCRI building explodes.

At same time:

Donnie and April see Leo on the roof.

Casey notices an explosion.

Mikey and Draxum hear an explosion.

Splinter and Raph see the explosion.

Then: (in order)

Leo portals away. 

Donnie and April start to fall.

Protal opens to save D& A.

Raph catches D&A as they fall.

Mikey catched the building, slowing its down so that people could get away.

Raph carries Donnie home.

Mikey gets call from Raph

Casey and Cass arrive when things have calmed down.

Raph dropped Donnie off in med-bay

Raph calls Casey.

Total time: roughly 21 hours.

Part 4: Earth Protection Force

Sunset: (few hours after TCRI)

Leo passes out in the forest. 

Mikey leaves home on a journey alone to EPF.

Night: 

Mikey sleeps under the stars. 

Before sunrise next day:

Midday:

Mikey wakes up and continues journey. 

Late morning:

Leo wakes up and finds a pool of water.

Leo enters the EPF building. 

Leo is caught by Krang.

imma say it again; Donnie is not only autistic, but such a good representation of it

i went on a long, detailed version of this bc i love my turtles and i REALLY love writing my thoughts out, pls bear with me

special, and I mean SPECIAL interests in what he loves (ex: his technology, like the man literally has his own lab for them). there was an episode where he lost his tech, and it shows how uncomfortable and worried he feels without them bc those were his comfort items and his passion

NOT apathetic -> rise conveys that Donnie has low empathy, where instead of showing no emotions at all, he can seem to be distant or uninterested, yet he just has a difficult time expressing those emotions unless it involves his hobbies and his family

there are a lot more clues into how his autism is so well-done, but i think these are the main signs.

this is proof of his autistic swag, please go vote for him in the autismswagsummit!! go donnie!!

ROTTMNT : SPIRITS WITHIN THE WEAPONS

Odachi

Nicknames : Oda / Chi / Ochi

(Or probably in better terms, more Canon Compliant than AU..?)

Oda is the only spirit that has all his old memories, but he never tells anyone his past. Like the others, he decided to adopt the weapons name as his own, despite knowing his original name. 

Although the other spirits don't know their ages, they all know that Oda is a lot older than them. 

Oda is stern, calm and collected, and mysterious. However, his firm attitude comes across as him not caring about what others think or feel, when really he is super intuitive to others thoughts and feelings but pretends otherwise.

Oda is more than willing to listen to and help the other spirits with their problems and insecurities, but his answers and solutions—although helpful— are often too blunt. 

Oda thinks Leo is too child-like to wield a dangerous weapon and mystic power such as the Odachi and portals. 

Oda deliberately made it hard for Leo to use the Odachi, wanting to test Leo to see if he was worthy to use the Odachi. 

Eventually, Oda sees Leo's determination to fight for his family. This determination and stubbornness to give up on using the mystic portal abilities, despite multiple failures, is what changes Oda's mind. 

Overtime Oda learns to trust Leo with the Odachi, knowing that, although it may not seem like it, the young turtle knows what he's doing. 

Although it took a while, Oda started to really enjoy Leo's sense of humor, even going as far as to laugh at his more stupider jokes. 

Oda constantly threatens the other spirits if they ever mention how he likes the young turtles wielding him— although they all know he never goes through with his threats. 

Oda is the only one who can keep Fundi in check. 

Oda doesn't talk much, but the others can hear his sighs and eye-rolls miles away. He's full of eyebrow raises, huffs and disappointed headshakes. 

Hums old tunes a lot. 

Oda's formless self consists of blue lightning whizzing around the blade and brilliant blue eyes appearing from the lightning. He can whip the sword around by itself but can't access any portals or teleportation. 

Oda hates it when his blade goes blunt. Before he was able to take on Leo's form he stressed about the condition of his blade, but now that he has a form he can sharpen it himself when the others are asleep. 

All the other spirits rely on Oda, trusting him with their lives as well as all their problems and insecurities. 

Oda loves to meditate and train, and while the others are sleeping, he can sometimes be seen by the other spirits practicing with the Odachi. 

Although he denies it, Oda is the only one who has tried multiple times to reach out to Leo, often to stop the young turtle form doing something stupid, but alas, they can't touch or communicate with the real world. 

The other spirits know Oda is soft for Leo, and secretly they all wish they could interact with the turtles just so that they could see Oda talk with Leo like they know he wants to. 

Oda often talks about old teas he used to love drinking but can't anymore (the only time he speaks of his past) and secretly enjoys watching Jupiter Jim and Lou Jitus with the turtles—though will deny it when someone mentions it.   

Thinks of Hal the most but knows that Hal probably doesn't think of them much.

I drew feral Leo but was unsure about what to do with him so I thought I'd post him as is, with the added bonus of his brothers' reactions.

Below the cut I have expanded upon their feelings. There are spoilers if you haven't read up to the current chapter though.

Mikey:

He took one of Donnie's weapons with a clear goal in mind, though it is unknown what the weapon is and what he intends to do with it. He is serious though, he will not go easy on (Not) Leo.

Afterall he desperately wants Leo back but keeps jumping back and forth over whether or not the mutant turtle they pulled out of the Prison Dimension is really his brother or not.

Maybe Karai can help him answer that?

Raph:

Raph loves Leo so much and nothing will make him happier to get him home. But his family is getting hurt in the process. Leo seems more than reluctant to come home, and he's scared that Leo's now unpredictable and violent nature will get his family hurt or even worst... killed.

He knows it all the results of having been trapped alone with Krang Prime, but he has no idea how to help his brother come back from that.

Maybe going to the EPF will help him figure it out?

Donnie:

He will do anything to get his twin back. He doesn't care how much he gets hurt, but he will not risk hurting Leo more than he already is. He will keep trying to talk with his twin, offer help and support in anyway he can. He's not good with emotions, and is well aware that he's more likely going to mess it up than fix anything, but he will never stop trying.

However he is unsure whether or not being patient and understanding with Leo is helping.

Maybe Leo can help clear his resolve?

Yooo, your Prolonged Agony fic is painful to my emotions! :0 It is good drama, tasty like a well made cake. But I gotta ask somethin'. Why don't the bros just, like, toss Leo stuff through the portals? Like, new wraps and what not?

I'm so glad your enjoying my fic! And thank you for asking, it is a really interesting question, my answer is going to be a bit long I'm afraid.

To answer your question: I think the boys are far too desperate about getting Leo back to even think about anything else. For one, they forgot to tell April and Casey about their attempts to save Leo; they could've gone to Draxum for help—this is something Mikey especially could've done. And they also could've actually tried to go in themselves to reach him that way.

These are all things I deliberately missed out because I think when you're scared, in pain and still healing yourself, and feel you have only one tiny hint of hope of getting someone you love back, all you do is focus on that one thing. In this case, pulling Leo out through Mikey's portals is their one hope, so they're fixated on that alone and are not thinking about anything else.

Spoilers below for anyone who hasn't read the fic.

In portal 1 and 2- they only just got away from the fight themselves, didn't have supplies, and also didn't even consider that it would fail.

Portal 3- Mikey was by himself and wasn't thinking much at all apart from getting Leo out.

Protal 4- Failed.

Portal 5- At this point, if they started to actually formulate proper plans—like providing medical supplies and food etc—to them it would've felt like they were kinda giving up on getting Leo out of the a Prison Dimension. That they were going to make his life there comfortable instead of saving him from being there. They want him out ASAP, so actually helping in other ways would've felt like thay were stalling because they couldn't save him.

Portal 6- Traumatised after last portal. Plus it wasn't a planed portal, Mikey and Donnie were just worried about Leo and just wanted to see him, to make sure he was still alive.

Portal 7+- We'll see. (Chapters are already written and waiting to be posted.)

So yeah, stress, worry, desperation and trauma are all playing their part at stopping the boys from thinking straight. Does that make sense?

The Spirits' reactions to the Mystic Library Mikey's echo scene.

Fundi Part 2

Somehow knows exactly what Mikey is thinking at all times. Which can get really creepy.

Insists one day he will be able to communicate telepathically with Mikey.

Fundi takes no time to practice with the weapons he inhabits, making him the only spirit who cannot use his own weapon.

However, when Mikey weilds the Kusari-Fundo, Mikey and Fundi are the most in sync with each other.

He found out he can skateboard if he stands on the board with the Kusari-Fundo between his feet and the skateboard he normally couldn't stand on.

Fundi can form himself with normal eyes, like the others, but prefures to keep his bright firey eyes.

However, when something is really wrong with him— whether he's suffering another flash of memory or is stressed (see P1 for more)— the fire in his eyes will die down to either a tiny flicker or even go out complete, depending on how stressed he is.

Fundi will encourage Mikey— or anyone for that matter— to do something stupid or dangerous or chaotic.

Ultimate prankster.

Cannot be left alone. Ever.

Oda and Tonfa are glad Mikey can't see or hear Fundi, they'd be scared for the young turtle's saftey otherwise.

Honestly, there is nothing Fundi can do at this point that will surprise Oda. Fundi knows this so tries his utmost to surprise Oda... It hasn't worked... yet.

Tonfa can never find it in him to tell Fundi off or yell at him for any trouble he causes.

Oda will glare silently at Fundi until the awkwardness gets to Fundi and he caves and apologises for whatever he did.

Oda has no problem in finding creative punishments for Fundi.

Oda finds it all too easy to find something Fundi hates, keeping it in mind for a time when he can use it against Fundi.

Punishments such as: being forced to sit next to Spliter and watch all the dramas/adverts he watches; forced to clean the Kusari-Fundo; forced to meditate while the turtles are having fun— fun he wants to be involved in.

I will do a post on Hal and Donnie next since I feel I'm neglecting Hal.
