Loved your take on him smelling like smoke and I completely agree! I have no idea how his hair works, physics wise his hair would be burning at atleast 2,500 degrees F if not up to 3000 degrees F so by all means simply brushing past him would leave you with atleast a slight burn if not worse, yet we see him tie it up in a ponytail and braid it. Also just a little silly fact since his hair canonically turns red when he’s angry that would mean his hair becomes a colder temperature when he’s angered than it is when he’s completely fine (p.s I love Idia thank you for talking about him with me!!) -🦭

RIGHT? but I don't think it burns at all, not himself nor other people, since no one has ever mentioned it? Idia is insecure about his hair, yes, but not because it's dangerous and has hurt people before, but because it's different and people might look at him weird. and just like you said anon, simply by brushing past him it would be able to leave a burn mark on someone!! which has never happened at all!!

maybe it has something to do with his curse? I don't know much about his backstory yet, though I'm pretty sure he's not fae or a demigod, but a human like most students, the only difference is that his family carries a curse that causes his hair to be in flames, his teeth pointy and his lips blue. I'm pretty sure that's it? there must be some reason (something involving the underworld?), but I haven't read chapter 6 so I'm not aware of it yet.

this curse might mean his hair is not actually on flames, but these are more like a symbolical fire? it imitates real fire, but acts just like hair (with a few exceptions at the tips that end up floating and giving it a fiery effect). that might be why he's able to touch it and mold it into different hairstyles.

it would also explain this emotional fact! like you said, his hair turns colder when he's angry, which wouldn't make much sense if you consider that there's a tendency of your blood rushing and making you run hotter when feeling strong emotions, particularly one as strong as anger. if you consider the color theory of it, though, it makes more sense: Idia is usually chill and calm, even melancholic, so blue fits his natural state. red is associated with negative fiery emotions, such as anger. pink is a soft color that brings to mind love, so when he's flustered it might burn pink. so on and so forth. it's very cute how you can tell his emotional state by his hair!

Idia is so interesting (and relatable at some points), I totally understand why he'd be one of your favorites, anon! I really enjoy talking about him with you, as you bring up so many good points I wouldn't have thought about!! I can't wait until chapter 6 comes to the english server so I can see more of him!

OH TELESERYES SEEM VERY COOL, as Cherry stated we have the mexican telenovelas here and, as someone that used to watch them, I can garantee they are very dramatic indeed. I think both can be tied on that aspect honestly

I really like how his character was more flashed out in chap5! his relationship with Vil is so interesting, I love how they listen to each other and actually take in considerstion what they say, they can balance each other out. his appearence in events is also delightful, in the ghost bride event I KNOW he was having the time of his life being all romantic and stuff lol

still. I'm mad at him for being the one vote that made RSA win the VDC. I understand why he did it and I think it was an important lesson for Vil but. I'm still salty. he's going to the salad spinner for that.

Summary: Leona and Ruggie with a tired reader that wants to recharge!

Notes: gn!reader, fluff, I did short scenarios since there wasn't a specified format, I guess their relationship is kind open to interpretation? they could either be dating or close friends, you chose!

You were exhausted. Seriously, after having to deal with NRC students' antics for days on end, babysit Grim, Ace and Deuce, do Crowley's chores and study for subjects you've never even heard of some months ago, you felt like you were at your wits end.

Leona

Eyes dropping and body tired, you just wanted to rest for a bit, maybe take a nap to recharge your energy. You really felt like you were about to drop on spot if you had to do one more thing without getting some sleep in first. 

That's why you found yourself at the botanical garden in the middle of the day. After leaving Grim with your friends and trusting them to take care of him (may the Sevens have mercy on NRC), you've wandered to a place you knew would be quiet enough that nobody would disturb you.

Not only that, but you were also looking for someone. Scanning the temperate zone, you perk up a bit once you spot the figure of Savanaclaw's housewarden lazily dozing off on a sunny spot.

Quick steps approach him, stopping in their tracks once you're right in front of him. You kneel down, waiting for his deep rumble as he lazily opens one eye to peek at you

"It's you, herbivore. What do you want?"

His blunt words may sound rude, but you knew he didn't mean any harm by it. Instead of answering him, you silently worm your way into his arms, nuzzling your face against his neck. 

If it where anyone else, they would have been sent to the infirmary in the blink of an eye, although no one else had the courage to do what you just did. Since it is you, Leona only lets out an amused chuckle and wraps his arms around your body, head resting on the top of yours. 

"The brats are giving you trouble, hm?" 

Your groan is confirmation enough for him, making him let out a huff of laughter. 

"Then lets forget them for now. You can stay as long as you don't stir too much, I want to be able to sleep too, you know."

A prolonged hum is his only answer, your drowsiness taking over as your eyelids feel heavier and heavier. The warmth of his body, the comfort of his arms securing you, the smell of his faint cologne and the nature around you, the sound of his calm breathing and the little river running nearby, the feeling of being safe all allowed you to relax for the first time in weeks.

In less than a minute you were already sleeping, little huffs of breath ghosting over his skin, the rise and fall of your chest accompanying his own. Leona's tail swished from side to side, pleased with your company, even if he wouldn't admit to it. 

He wouldn't let anyone disturb your sleep, enjoying this moment between the two of you for as long as he could. If you end up waking up hours later than you intended to, he'll just shrug and tell you he was sleeping too. Besides, you needed the extra rest, so you better thank him. 

Leona isn't the best with words of comfort, hence his actions will speak louder. He tends to pay attention to you, more than you'd think, so if he sees you're getting too tired again, he might subtly suggest another nap. He'll make sure you'll be able to get all the rest you might need, as nobody would dare to disturb him and, by extension, you.

Ruggie

Your shoulders sagged and you dragged your feet through the floor, the fatigue catching up to you after a handful of stressful days. All the responsabilities that were throw your way and your concern of whether you'd be able to go back to your home, your world, were taking their toll on you. 

The thing you needed the most was somewhere to rest, both your mind and body. You've been wanting to spend some time with Ruggie, as you two were very close and you guessed he also could take a break, but he's always busy, running errands for Leona and taking on side jobs.

You sigh dejectedly as you open the door of Ramshackle, preparing yourself to try to actually get some hours of sleep instead of tossing and turning around the bed, mulling over your troubles.

"Welcome!" 

Jumping in surprise, you lift your head to see Ruggie laughing at your reaction, his giggles making his shoulders shake in mirth, tail swishing back and forth.

"Oh, you had to see your face! Weren't you expecting to see me here?"

You stutter something, so jumbled not even you could understand, and he only laughs harder, hand covering his mouth in a signature gesture.

"Sorry, sorry, I couldn't resist it. You looked so cute, like a scared rabbit." It's clear he isn't sorry at all, the grin on his face being proof enough. Though you don't get mad at his antics. In fact, they even made you feel a bit better, a small smile gracing your face in return as you gently shake your head

Gesturing to the couch, you make yourselves comfortable. Leaning onto Ruggie, you let the weight of your preoccupations wash away from you, focusing on how the touch of his side against yours feels grounding, how his arm wrapped around you and hand rubbing circles on your skin feels soothing, how you're finally able to relax.

"Sorry, I know I've been too busy lately, but you know I'll always find time for you, right?" Gazing at him, you can tell he's genuine this time, the sincerity in his tone and expression reassuring you. You nod and let out a hum, closing your eyes and letting your head rest against his shoulder. 

Ruggie laughes affectionately, head resting against yours. One of your hands finds his hair and starts playing with it, you mumble a request: "Tell me about your day."

Ruggie's voice is quiet as he tells you what happened in his classes that day, what ridiculous tasks Leona had given him, what trouble the Savanaclaw students got into, and so on. His voice lulls you into relaxation, your breath slowing.

Soon enough, both are making use of this moment of quietness and peace in your usual hectic lives, recharging your energies.

As someone who tends to overwork himself as well, Ruggie knows how to recognize when you're in need for a break. If he notices more prominent eyebags or sluggish movements coming from you, he'll do his best to make sure you can relax for a moment and reassure your worries. You do the same for him, after all, you take care of each other.

drool is running down the corner of your chin and your head is rested on his shoulder, lolling to the side a little when the vehicle travels over a bump or indent in the road. he thinks you look absolutely hilarious, snickering under his breath as he pulls out his phone. his best friend gives him a warning look but he’s rolling his eyes. you have so many pictures of him looking atrocious, but he has none of you. of course he’ll delete it later if you tell him to, & you can always get him back for it on the way home. he snaps a selfie of you both: him in the foreground, grinning, you in the background, barely visible due to his broad shoulders, his friends frowning around you. adds heart emojis and sends it to you before making it his lockscreen.

keeps looking back at it afterwards and smiles. nobody else understands what’s so endearing about that photo for him to be looking at it so lovingly. he’s holding his phone with a dreamy look on his face… cringe.

he’s holding onto you tightly as the rollercoaster climbs higher and higher up it’s path. why did he go on this again? for fun?

oh righttt, he’s trying to prove how capable he is to you. you can lean onto his shoulder if you’re scared, okay? you’re at the peak of the rollercoaster now, carriage slightly tilting as you exchange apprehensive glances. huh… this is kind of romantic? he opens his mouth to say something. what if he confessed—the rollercoaster whooshes down faster than he expected it to. you’re screaming at the top of your lungs when you feel a sudden weight on your shoulder. you turn to see him PASSED OUT?? you’re frantically shaking him but receive no response. he’s a goner.

the ride’s camera snaps a comical photo of him. you’re buying it instantly. he pushes it into your hands telling you to keep the events of this ride a secret. this was for your eyes only, okay? you just wave him off absentmindedly with a smile before checking up on his condition. for a second you were scared for him!

he internally fistpumps. he might not have gotten to confess, and he may have looked like an idiot, but at least he got you to dote on him. so who’s the real winner here? (…it’s not him...)

except his money is being run dry. each time the claw machine picks the plushie up, it just falls again! or if he manages to grapple the toy, it slips out before he can even get it to the drop zone. he’s been at it for at least half an hour and there’s a cue of children behind him asking when it’s their turn. parents are cursing at him for hogging the machine and his patience is running thin. just one more try, and he’ll give it up. just one more, okay?

he’s clutching the amusement park flyer with a grim look on his face, lips pulled into a perpetual pout. where is everyone? he leans against the school entrance; it feels as though crickets would start chirping at any second. looking through the gate, there seems to be no sign of any other people around, or a school bus—or anything at all. the area is desolate, lacking the life or incessant chatter a school should have.

as he checks the time on his non-existent wristwatch for the umpteenth time, his eyes widen and then narrow again. he realises that he’s been left behind.

MALLEUS (teleports there enraged)
