Tolkien is having his first ever egg. It’s. Not going well.
“I know nothing about British or American imperialism in the Far East that does not fill me with regret and disgust, I am afraid I am not even supported by a glimmer of patriotism in this remaining war.”
- JRR Tolkien, Letters, p. 115
Yeah, that’s me alright. No class, no breeding, no coat of arms. Definitely no old money. An oik. But I’m a police officer and I’m arresting you on suspicion of murder. – 11x02 Blood Wedding
I have no idea how dead this fandom is on Tumblr but I love scrolling the tag, so I thought this would be the best place to look!
I'm working on a fic project involving Ben Jones, so naturally I'd like to make a character playlist for him. What songs do you think he'd like/would suit his character?
listening to strange trails is not enough. i need all that shit to happen to me.
there's a method to my madness there's a secret to this town there's a reason why i'm still living here though i can't think of it right now

do you think that once the hobbits got back to the shire they realised they needed to slow their walking speed because they'd gotten used to walking a lot quicker around the tall folks for the months of the quest
You will listen to me. Listen! The Brethren will still be looking here, to us, to the Black Pearl to lead. And what will they see? Frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship? No. No, they will see free men! And freedom! And what the enemy will see is the flash of our cannons. They will hear the ring of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brows, and the strength of our backs…and the courage of our hearts! Gentlemen! Hoist the colors.

Who was going to tell me that Lucy Gray is a poem by William Wordsworth where she gets lost in the snow (!!!) and disappears, leaving people to wonder if she died or is still living??
"Yet some maintain that to this day She is a living Child, That you may see sweet Lucy Gray Upon the lonesome Wild. O'er rough and smooth she trips along, And never looks behind; And sings a solitary song That whistles in the wind."
I'm frothing at the mouth, how did I miss this?? This also just adds a little extra flavour to her choice of name for Haymitch's girlfriend, Lenore, because the Covey really were out there preserving literature and poetry by literally weaving it into their identities.
That was the moment when my heart broke into pieces, seriously no, Jones’ face, just no *crying*
