So cute

Read some excellent MyLaurie fanfics from Slasherslasher and Burningsoftly and now I want to see a story where Laurie is being hunted by a copycat killer, see how she deals with that, and how our favorite stalker would as well. I don't know I'm just bored and staving off Christmas for as long as I can.

@only-mango-welches-fruitsnacks and i are obsessed with doc ock so hereās some otto doodles
This. Just this.
Itās finals but. But. My procrastination brain canāt turn off and itās past midnight Iāve done maybe an hour of studying. All Iāve done is read fan fiction and watch new competition shows, manhua, and anime I have a problem.
[ image: A mock comic panel of a Pre-Doctor Octopus Otto Octavius, standing in the foreground with a frightened look. A metaphorical mushroom cloud blows up above his head, turning into a red, hazy cloud haloing his head. Behind him, two lab assistants in protective gear look at him, one reaching over to touch his shoulder. The room around him is getting dark. ]
Don't have a meltdown now, Doc!
Neat.
Starting soon I will begin a new (very off and on) project of checking out the āUntold Tales of Spider-Manā anthology book from 1997 and providing my thoughts on each of the prose stories contained within. The book was inspired by the comic book series of the same name back when it was a hot property and was even edited by its author, Kurt Busiek. In fact a few stories in the book were written by comic book alumni.
The agenda reads:
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 01: Side by Side with the Astonishing Ant-Man ā by Will Murray
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 02: After the First Death⦠ā by Tom DeFalco
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 03: Celebrity ā by Christopher Golden and Jose R. Nieto
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 04: Better Looting Through Modern Chemistry ā by John Garcia and Pierce Askegren
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 05: Identity Crisis ā by Michael Jan Friedman
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 06: The Doctorās Dilemma ā by Danny Fingeroth
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 07: Moving Day ā by John S. Drew
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 08: The Liar ā by Ann Nocenti
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 09: Deadly Force ā by Richard Lee Byers
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 10: The Ballad of Fancy Dan ā by Ken Grobe and Steven A. Roman
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 11: Poison in the Soul ā by Glenn Greenberg
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 12: Livewires ā by Steve Lyons
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 13: Arms and the Man ā by Keith R.A. DeCandido
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 14: My Enemy, My Savior ā by Eric Fein
Untold Tales of Spider-Man 15: The Stalking of John Doe ā by Adam-Troy Castro
I will be covering the stories from the audiobook put out by Dreamscape and Audible and copying over the plot synopses from Spiderfan.org to save myself some time.
Hope you enjoy!
Questions for the academia community, is anthropology and genetics light or dark academia?
Researchers from the University of Essex have published a controversial study suggesting men are the true victims of gender inequality, with women at an overall advantage. The paper, published in 2019, claims to have found that men are, on average, more disadvantaged than women in 91 out of 134 countries, which is about 68% of countries studied and includes Great Britain, Canada, and the US.
Before you crucify me, this isnāt the only place where this controversial idea has been called out. As the World Bank put it in its most recent Global Gender Gap Report, the Ā current standard for measuring inequality is the World Economic Forumās Global Gender Gap Index. āThe index rewards countries that reach the point where outcomes for women equal to those for men, but it neither rewards nor penalizes cases in which women are outperforming men". That means itās effectively a measure of women inequality and ignores male inequality, which is clearly only half the picture.
This stuff is super interesting and very important. If advocates for women equality truly want to achieve it, they need to look at the full picture. In this episode weāre going to look at some of the ways that men are behind in equality.
The purpose of this episode is not to say that men have it worse than women, although some measurements do illustrate that like the Basic Index of Gender Inequality (BIGI) focuses on three factors ā educational opportunities, healthy life expectancy and overall life satisfaction.
The purpose of this episode is to uncover some of the ways that men arenāt equal and to remind us that if we are going to say that we havenāt reached equality for women, we need to be careful that we arenāt saying that we have reached equality for men, because that is certainly not true. Men make up 50% of the population. If women are going to ask that men buy into the idea of equality, we need to ensure we are looking at the full picture.
Men donāt live as long as women
Men perform poorer in school
Men arenāt completing university
Men have lower life satisfaction
Men are more likely to commit suicide
Men are more likely to be imprisoned
