Sorry about the weird creepy silence for the last couple of days, I had a pretty gross head cold so my head felt about 50% larger than normal for a few days there, and I've been kind of busy expelling all kind of unspeakable evil from my face holes.
Mostly over it now, but all I really did during that time was work on the character creator a bit more, work on some menu organization for the game and other backend things (trying to future-proof the game for installment release and other stuff), and also this thing in the video.
I was thinking about the seasonal produce ingredients for cooking, and how players might end up making something they don't actually want/have a use for, and then not only being stuck with that dish, but also having lost their seasonal produce they used to make it. If they ran out of that seasonal ingredient, they're kind of screwed until the next time that produce is available/in-season, as far as making any other dishes goes.
So besides adding the option to discard unwanted items from your inventory, I've also set up an item called the "Unmaker" that can be used to break down creations back into their base ingredients. The Unmaker is a consumable item, meaning you can only use it once per dish then it disappears from your inventory. In this video demo I have 5 of them, so you'll see that amount go down with each use.
Right now I have the percentage chances of successfully getting your ingredients back set pretty high (100% for the seasonal ingredients and 60% for all other ingredients) but I'm sure I'll end up adjusting these after doing some playtesting.
You're not a literal nobody, thank you for putting so much time and effort into making such a beautiful game, omg ;-;
Nnng my heart
Reworked the game scene I made yesterday, added a panel, resized some stuff, made Kage's panels semi-transparent since that seemed to make more sense for the context of him being in another location from the player, and recolored his hair. Still didn't fix the options menu though, I don't want to decrease the font size because it will be hard to read I think. So that means going in and messing with the menu panel's height I think...
More concept art for yandere Kage. I'm going to need a lot of face assets for him since he kind of wears his heart on his sleeve. Hopefully not ever literally...I worry about that boy.
Samples for 1st LI's sprite animation, Yurei! Now I can start working on a design for the final love interest option...
Wowowow I didn't think people would actually donate without some kind of tier rewards or something but I've once again underestimated humanity, that's 3 donors
You guys are real human beings ❤️🩹
A walking tour of MC's grimy neighborhood in the fictional town of Midnight City, the main setting for my upcoming F2P yandere boyfriend game, "I Can Fix Him!"
As you can see, the game starts in autumn, and will include maps for all 4 seasons as well as time mechanics, day/night cycles, and time/season-dependent events (including your chosen birthday)! Also, random weather. In this map loaded, it decided to rain.
Using the redheaded female sprite for this footage. 4 hair colors available, male or female playable avatar, 4 planned skin tones for each. More customization options in the works! See my more recent post regarding the custom character generator!
Map design and layout by me as well as the sprites, character design and art. All other pixel assets on this map are by Kaue Luchetta and Grayfax software.
hii! I was wondering if you were looking for an artist for your game? ^_^ so sorry if this seems rude
Hey no worries, thank you for offering but this is going to stay a solo project :) I have purchased art from other artists who will be in the credits (pixel art that has been designed with the game's engine in mind), but I'm not actually working "with" anyone in a team.
The logistics of that would be a nightmare for all involved as I'm terrible at coordinating with people, have completely erratic hours/no sleep schedule etc.
Yesterday I added the actual mechanics into the game for leveling up the cats at the café, and added a feather toy. Each cat activity makes 1 hour of in-game time pass per round (but in reality takes less than a minute). No worries though, when you're not doing specific activities, time passes normally in the game (1 minute in game is 1 real life minute etc.). So no need to rush.
You may or may not be thinking, sheesh just move on from the cats already and get back to work on the main point of this game; dating and yandere harassment! To which I say:
I'm sorry
I will be working on more of the hand drawn sprites of the guys for White Day events next
Kage meltdown is coming soon
Please look forward to it
He looks back when you look back,
Not just once,
Not just twice
